Lewis' Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Schaghticoke

This is truly a small town local bar where everyone knows everyone. Locals mainly gather here and you can feel a hometown atmosphere. It is quiet and very safe even on busy nights. The owner and staff are personable and make you feel welcome there. There isn’t the usual drama you would see and hear like other small taverns I’ve been to. It is an excellent tavern to network locally for anything. Everybody pretty much knows everyone in town. The food is really good for “bar food”. It’s better than what I expected out of a tavern. Pricing is excellent on drinks and food. The jukebox has a really good variety of music. There is a dart board and occasionally they host events such as sports events and card games for entertainment. They also host various events supporting farmers, local bands and other activities where the community benefits. The atmosphere has the same inviting feel from the farmers breakfast to the packed weekend night crowds. In cooler weather, the fireplaces out on the patio are lit and you can relax to the sound of the falls from the Hoosick river behind the bar. This is a cash only tavern and there is an ATM inside the bar. Come prepared with cash as there is a small fee for the ATM. It’s nothing ridiculous, the fee is comparable to any other ATM.
