Our fam had a bit of a rough day so we decided to go out for dinner and try some place new to cheer up the kids. I wish we had went somewhere else because instead of improving the mood we made it much worse. First of all let me say that the place is beautiful inside. Second let me say that our server Nicholas was very nice albeit a bit non existent once we were eating and needed drink refills. We ordered a couple roast turkey dinners, chicken tenders, chicken wings, poutine, mac and cheese and a couple bacon jam cheeseburgers. All of the food was pretty terrible and extremely overpriced. Maybe their morning breakfast menu is better? The food was mostly bland and/or flavorless. The mac and cheese noodles were overcooked and had an odd taste. My youngest daughter literally started throwing up towards the end of our meal. Our server knew this as I told him when he was handing me the check. He also should have noticed much of our food was untouched and should have gotten a manager. We are not ones to cause a scene or demand parts of a check be taken off so l just paid it and decided to count my losses. But it should have easily been noticed that we were not enjoying ourselves. Again my child was literally in the process outside of throwing up the meal she just ate (and no she's not sick). The bill was $160+ for a family of 5. That normally is the average we spend when eating at a sit down restaurant. However, this meal wasn't worth $50. It was genuinely really bad. The menu is extremely limited so if you have picky eaters or hate bland, eat somewhere else. My wife loves burgers and l've never seen her complain about one or send one back in 20 years. She hated this burger. I didn't think it was very good either. How can you mess up a cheeseburger?? Needless to say we had a very lousy time and wasted a bunch of money. We of course will not be retuning to...
Read moreI went with a friend of mine and her daughter to try this new place out. Entering the establishment, it was inviting and had a clean look about the place. The waitress sat us and handed us menus, offered us drinks to start with. I ordered my coffee, and the others, a Diet Pepsi and a glass of apple juice. When she arrived with our drinks, I noticed that a glass of orange juice was placed in front of the daughter of my friend. She didn't want to interrupt the waitress with a complaint so she kept the orange juice. I, however, was bothered. I put in creamer and sugar in my coffee and, grabbing for a spoon, realized our waitress didn't place utensils. I work in food service, I get that being busy is stressful, but maybe have a pad and pen to put down somethings.
We ordered around 10:30am and the food came as expected. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles. It was delicious. The price range is manageable with the current costs. I took the pic after I cut into it, so I do not want to post that. I did take the rest home.
The one concern I have is the chairs. They seem a bit too fragile. I'm not a heavy man, but I felt, if i moved too much, the plastic chair would collapse. If you feel unsure, choose to sit on the booth side.
Would I go again? Sure. I'd give them another try. Food was hot (up to temp), presented and tasted great. Why not, right?
PS
I did order an extra apple juice for my friend to replace the one they never...
Read moreMy husband and I heard great reviews about At Long Last from a friend and wanted to visit ourselves. We called ahead and made reservations for 11:45am on Columbus Day (our anniversary). We showed up a few minutes early and we're seated promptly. A few minutes later we were given menus by a lady and was told she was not our server but she'd be helping out anyways. We quickly looked over the drink menu and placed our drink order as soon as she came back. We ended up waiting 20 minutes for our drinks. We weren't able to enjoy our drinks very long before our food showed up. I ordered the vegetable hash, and my husband ordered the corn beef hash. The vegetable hash was ok. I was disappointed that the poached eggs were over cooked, and the hash was bland. The corn beef hash was bland as well and not fried enough. I ended up not finishing my meal but my husband finished his out of pure hunger. I was also disappointed the drink menu did not have prices listed. My pumpkin shaken espresso was only $7.50 while my husbands flight of 4-4oz mimosas was $20!!!!! Our glasses were also cracked and about to break. We were not compensated for anything or offered another selection on the menu when the lady noticed I had hardly touched my hash. The whole meal ended up costing...
