The Hitching Post Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Town of Sevastopol

Wonderful service and delicious food. This is a very special hidden gem in Door. It’s Low key, fresh and perfectly prepped food, huge menu, and bonus of being both family friendly and welcoming to locals or solo folks.

In our case, we came as fam (many years in past of loving coming with friends or to bar too:). On this occasion, We loved the outdoor seating with added tables, cornhole to entertain the kids, and also hearing about fish fry Friday nights. Food is top notch with current owners (randomly the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in my life, to the point I insisted to have it even for takeout day after we dined there!) The local whitefish bay dune regulars clearly agree since it can get quite busy (we tried for second meal in a day but parking lot was full on a Friday by 6pm. Next time we will go at 5:30! :)! Lunch time was easy to snag a table last few times and a welcoming atmosphere. For healthier fare, my parents loved the salad with fresh chicken. For my own Wisconsin love: cheese curds were fresh and delicious ( 2 days ago I got one in the batch that was largest curd I’d seen in 4 years:)- perfectly cooked!

Our family favorite. Seen this place from 30 years ago and every year since. The menu is basic American fare . Food is good, hours are wonky but we don’t complain, ambiance is on the most beautiful place with fast efficient service.

I remember as a kid the game room and bar that stuck out taking up the entire restaurant. Then our distant cousin bought it, reconstructed the inside and began selling pizza but closed then after and sold to someone who named it “the Tin plate” (didn’t last long at all lol..) and now the current owners - which is a perfect fit. Always top tier service, so SO glad to see this place serve its intended purpose exactly how it’s...

This place was just down the road from where we were staying so it was a no-brainer to go there. But, for those of you considering a further drive, this is a great local hangout with a ton of character. It's very casual, with an outdoor area in the yard to the side. The food was frankly very good. I really enjoyed the Mediterranean wrap. It was very tasty. They have outdoor cornhole for the kids to play along with a firepit and sometimes they have outdoor live music. I wouldn't drive across the peninsula to go there, but if you are on this side, it might be good for that casual night you don't...
