The Ridge Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Sodus

Stopped in and was wowwed! The inside is beautiful and large and the staff were extremely friendly and quick. None of the patrons were dressed in costume for the Halloween season and it is rare I show up somewhere please start underdressed which made me happy. I did not get to try the food but got to meet the chef who takes a lot of pride in everything being handmade even the soups; and all of the locals have raved about the food. It was easy to make friends though I wandered in alone and even made a few pictures. Not at all like some small town is eager to get to know you and appreciate any eccentricities that you might possess. They were happy to provide Intel about local culture people places and things but with positive connotation. Any and all gossip was in the nature of singing the Praises of the above listed and there was nothing bad anyone seemed to have to say about anyone else or their town. Genuinely kind patrons and staff and food raved about and my drink was affordable. Will definitely be making this one of my new local watering holes and it exceeds any expectations for small town watering holes. First off we have been there before when the new management took over. Great food and great service. On Saturday 5 31. We arrived at 1 pm. No draft doors. So bottles no big deal. Asked for menus at the same time as getting a beverage. Wanted to play quick draw. Mind you there was only 6 people in the bar.. waitress spent more time talking with a couple then working. 10 minutes passed and I asked 3 times , excuse me and was ignored.. finally got our tickets in.. we went to order food. No chicken wings, wait what? What place doesn't order enough to serve for the weekend. So let's get a pizza. Welp no pizza crusts. Ok let's get hamburgers. Wait what no buns. Wtf.. Traveling from out of state and stayed in Asheville. Wanted a nice steak dinner, after looking at reviews and having such a good rating we checked this place out. Husband got a ribeye steak and garlic mashed potatoes, the ribeye was by far the fattiest of ribeyes he's ever had, asked for it to be cooked medium and it came out almost well done. The steak was veey bland, no seasonings. The garlic mashed potatoes were just watery potatoes, no garlic at all. I got filet mignon and again bland as ever, no seasonings and very well done and I asked for medium.
