This place used to be great. Better than most Sushi places in New York City. About 1O months ago the management changed and it actually got even better than it was. The sushi got better and they added lots of new items to the menu.
But then something drastically changed.
Maybe it was a new purchasing process or they started to run out of money.
The portion sizes dramatically reduced and the sushi quality became horrible.
Truly horrible. Once I brought an order home and was so disgusted I could not eat it and wanted to return it the next day. Unfortunately I got busy and didn’t have time so I had to throw away $50 worth of food.
I went in the other day to explore a second chance and look at the sushi they were going to sell.
It was disgusting and offensive looking. One hour away from needing to go into the garbage.
I walked out and was more than disappointed.
It used to be so great. It was one of my favorite operations in the Hamptons. I would order once a week.
Now I have just given up and pray they will go out of business so a new management crew could potentially step in.
This place is now the worst restaurant I know of and I will never go back.
Absolutely horrible on all levels.
Bad food. Bad management. Bad attitude.
Just horrible. Save your time and money and just go to Citarella if you want some sushi.
This is a sad loss for...
Read moreI wanted to try this restaurant out for a few years, and I'm glad I was able to do so recently with a couple of friends. The atmosphere is calm, the seating arrangements are spacious, and it wasn't crowded at all when we went for dinner (I believe we arrived there around 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday).
I had the chicken tempura when I went, and it both looked and tasted great. It even came with a small, decorative barrel full of lettuce and shredded carrots, which were displayed appealingly along with some other plants and leaves.
The staff was very nice during our visit as well. They were prompt with the water refills, which came in handy for washing down all the wasabi and sticky rice we had. I'm looking forward to trying some of the sushi next time I go.
A heads up to anyone who might be self-conscious about their foot odor: they ask that you remove your shoes prior to sitting down at the booths. I kind of liked the traditional feel of doing that and I was relieved that I showered and put on fresh socks before I went there with my friends. Few things are worse than having your sushi dinner ruined by post-workout foot funk.
I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit to Mount Fuji. Everything about my first visit there was great; the food, the relaxing atmosphere, and the pleasant staff were...
Read moreSome of the best I’ve had in years. In town for work and took a gamble on the sushi spot across the street from my hotel. When I walked in, I immediately regretted ordering take out and not taking a shower and putting on my good jeans to sit at the sushi bar. Took my food to my room and proceeded to enjoy one of the best sushi experiences ever. You can tell a lot about a sushi spot by their wasabi and pickled ginger, both of which were top notch. Great spicy tuna (not the kind that’s drowning in sriracha mayo, the kind with nice chunks of delicious tuna in a perfectly spicy sauce). Best salmon sashimi. Tofu in the miso soup (soup was great) was the tastiest tofu I’ve ever had. Great ginger dressing for the salad. So...
