Overpriced Trash. Was there on July 11, 2022. Menu was a fixed one. Waitress service and demeanor sub standard even for a kid with a summer job. Ordered the Jerk Salmon. There was nothing Jerk about it, it was a regular salmon fillet with to my knowledge of jerk seasoning, has Walkers Wood Jamaican jerk sauce on it, not marinated. It was not seasoned it was undercooked as well the center was raw — I asked the waitress if this is supposed to be like this she’s like yes that’s how they cook it (?)— half cooking seafood that is not sushi grade isn’t a good thing let alone the menu doesn’t state it’s cooked halfway (not worth the money at all). The appetizer tuna nachos for @ $15 was overpriced for 5 small pieces (waitress didn’t say it was small ). The flounder /fluke rolled up, zero seasoning and bland, also overpriced. When I asked the waitress if I can have a side of rice, her reply was ..”we don’t do that here..” ( how about you entertain me and go fake it like you asked someone and then come tell me it’s unavailable). Then after that we overheard another waitress mention the specials at this place, ours did not mention the specials at all, until we asked after we ordered. And she’s like yea, a lobster special. And also overheard the other waitress 100% telling her table the specials anything you want to add or change in the order much more professional - etc. I would normally not bash a place like this but this waitstaff in general seems to me only cater to the local elderly Hampton crowd that have zero clue what cooked and seasoned fish is suppose to taste like because this food isn’t worth money. Salmon fillets are not sushi grade. It’s meant to be cooked through, If you’re going to throw “Jerk” Salmon on the menu, use actual jerk sauce for the marinade. And on top of all that the bartender, watered down my margarita with margarita mix and and tiny amount of tequila. Unfortunately I’m not going to name the waitress like I said it’s a summer job, most likely . I’m sure she’ll know who’s writing this. Management needs to retrain the staff and the chef and cook need to be on their A Game for these ridiculous prices . Not all Hampton diners are elderly rich people looking for overpriced ($20) margaritas and bland food. Goto Rumbas for better food and drinks, less of a pretentious crowd. Apparently the owner of the restaurant blocked my review bc it seems it’s listed as spam. I’m going to find the physical bill for this place because I guess I may have hurt someone’s feelings there. And I’ll repost my review again. Why have reviews if the owner or google censors it. I am NOT saying not to go or anything else I’m reviewing based on my experience and the owners clearly don’t care because they did not even bother to reply. UPDATE: 8/2024- looking over some of the reviews bc Google sent me an update, it seems Google or the owner(s) of this place took down MY photos of the subpar foods. As I said I’d never go back here but I do hope at this point in time, they have a better chef, cook and better servers. And to date Not One person in management has reached out to for even a insincere apology or or to acknowledge poor service. And a fyi. I DO go to other businesses not necessarily restaurants and if I like the customer service bc it was great and stands out I will post a review and if it’s poor and stands out like this place I will post a review. Hopefully There’s new management. And it was in poor taste to delete my photos and submit to Google to have my review removed. Shows a lack of professionalism from...
Read moreOk so unfortunately I have to start off by saying I'm black. Reason being, I have been in the Hamptons my entire life so of course I've done my fair share of dining out here from Hampton Bays to Montauk. I have lots of white friends and lots of black friends and I love eating so go out with all types people and in my experience race is an issue, not so big to the point it makes me stay home and eat but it's a noticeable difference from when I go out with all my black friends opposed to going out with my white friends and being one of the only minorities in the group. So like many times before me my sister and our boyfriends walk into this restaurant and we are the only minorities there. Fine. I'm expecting the usual standoffish behavior that I always get when entering establishments around my way with a group of black people, but to my surprise there was none of that! The staff was so nice! Our waitress checked on us just as much as she should have and she was genuinely nice. Not nice because it was her job but genuinely nice she conversed with us laughed with us and just really made us feel at home! I'm sorry I didn't catch her name I would really be giving her a shout out right about now. So thats definately number 1! Number 2, the drinks are amamzing! Yes i out the drinks before the food lol. I got a LIIT and it was so good I only needed one! Just amazing! Number 3, last but certainly not least!! The food was sooooooooo good! I ordered seafood from the raw bar and had more seafood for dinner my boyfriend ordered fried chicken (don't start lol) that melted in your mouth idek how that's possible it was so good nothing like I've ever fried, I did mention I was black right?? Yea I can try some chicken but it will not melt in your mouth! My brother in law got shrimp quinoa and that was amazing! Me and my sister has pretty much the same taste buds we often get the same things when we eat but omg it was good the view is great and the service is best I've ever experienced in...
Read moreReturned to Sundays after several seasonal visits the past couple of years only to be met with disappointment. We were met and greeted immediately and cheerfully and led to a deck table overlooking the marina. Excellent. We were introduced by our smiling, upbeat server Anna (who'd, coincidentally, served us last summer too!). We ordered the clams in garlic white wine sauce, 2 lobster specials (2 lobsters each with 1/2 ear of corn, baked potato and drawn butter) and a bottle of Sancerre to enjoy with it all.
I had a perfect spicy Bloody Mary to start off with too! The clams arrived in quick fashion with a small warm baguette. I highly recommend this dish! The clams were each 1/2 dollar sized, cooked perfectly and nestled in a wonderful wine & garlic sauce. Yum! The baguette was perfectly crusty outside and cushiony inside to soak up the clam bowl goodness.
Then...the lobsters...served as we've seen in the past. Two steamed 1- 11/4 pound crustaceans with corn & potato side. However, the corn was pretty flavorless & unappealing and all 4 lobsters, sadly & unexpectedly, noticeably overcooked. A shame. Additionally the lobster special price had risen by 10% from $50/pp to $55/pp. A disappointing evening after all. Doesn't mean we won't write it off as an off night and try again...but stirred the "lobster is pretty ubiquitous around here & I'm well qualified to buy it & cook it myself served with better corn & save a lot on the wine" conversation.
My prior visits have been 10s and Anna is terrific, so we'll likely return...but the "ubiquitous lobster" talk is...
