For the past four years, Jaipore has been our go-to spot for authentic Indian cuisine, whether we’re dining in or ordering out. This family-run gem stands out not only for its warm, elegant atmosphere but also for the consistently fresh, flavorful dishes that keep us coming back twice a month, without fail. Our host, Arun, is always a highlight of our visit. His friendly demeanor and insightful suggestions help broaden our culinary horizons, introducing us to new flavors and combinations we might not have otherwise tried. Some of our tried-and-true favorites include: -Cochin Lamb Chops: These two succulent racks of lamb are perfectly cooked, with a beautiful blend of aromatic spices like coconut, ginger, and curry leaves. It's a dish we keep coming back to for its tender meat and vibrant flavor. -Sabji Saag Malai: A delightful vegetable dish featuring a spinach puree base, this dish includes eggplants, potatoes, and cauliflower. It’s the perfect side to balance out the heat from other spicier dishes. -Chicken Madras: Not on the menu but you can request it! This curry is rich and complex, with the warming flavors of curry leaves and coconut milk. It’s flavorful but not overwhelmingly spicy, making it an excellent choice for anyone who loves a well-rounded dish. -Naan: Jaipore’s naan is consistently excellent, available in a variety of flavors. my recent favorite is the cheese and coconut. - Fried Poori: A fun and delicious treat, these golden, puffy poori are like little balloons of joy, light and crisp with each bite. -Masala Dosa: This giant, crispy lentil pancake stuffed with spiced potatoes is a must-try. It’s hearty and satisfying, offering a savory flavor profile that pairs wonderfully with the chutneys served on the side. Ask for a large one! (just kidding) From the food to the service, everything at Jaipore is simply delightful. If you're craving authentic, flavorful Indian dishes, this family-run restaurant is a treasure that we can’t recommend enough.

The ambience and rating of Jaipore motivated us to try their lunch buffet. To begin - the ambience is great, the staff and service is also great. However the food leaves a lot to be desired. I have only reviewed the vegetarian items, they also had a lot of chicken items in the buffet. The chaat: Pani puri and bhel were there, but had no proper utensils to take the items in. Soup: pea soup was bland and barely warm. Appetizers: pakora and mango cauliflower were good. Main course: veg chettinad, sag paneer, aloo bhindi, langerwali dal, white rice, tomato rice, plain naan. The naan was burnt on the inner side - all the pieces in there serving vessel were burnt (pic attached) - how does a restaurant of this high rating allow this? The rice options were so bland, one would expect at least a biryani or pulao to be one of the options. The veg curries were okay, but nothing great. Desert consisted of strawberry ice cream, kheer and gulab jamun. The ice cream was good. The kheer was weird, it was spicy (had too much cinnamon) and sour. The gulab jamun was spongy - almost like rasgulla (it is not supposed to have a spongy texture) and instead of being perfectly round, it had a spike (almost like drop shape). I do not have pictures but I have never been this disappointed after eating gulab jamun. They also has tea and coffee, however the tea (masala chai) dispenser was already removed when we went to try it (~2:30pm, buffet is open till 3pm). Overall it was a disappointing meal at Jaipore. Not to mention their buffet isn't exactly cheap at ~$30/person.

Well built restaurant in the 18th century house which has certain sections for an exclusive experience ( Romantic Dinner etc.) We visited the place ( on our way from Legoland Park) for a dinner stop and had a great experience with the food and personalized service. The owners are the ones running the operations and very humble and grounded. Coming to the food, Paneer Butter Masala, Mutter Paneer and Ghee Rice topped the taste for the vegetarians. Chicken Phaal, luchi Bagari ( Shrimp cooked in a curry) and Tandoori medley were the top picks. Please ensure to mention the spice level based on hot vs moderate 😀,( unlike other places where the differences will be Indianized hot or Americanized hot) Imli Baighan ( Eggplant Fritters) and Dal Tadka were not apt as there was a smell of oil ( which comes from frying in overly used oil) and too much cinnamon in Dal, However the support staff was kind to have that replaced and not charged for the replacement. Overall a good place to visit if you are in I84 E and coming back to CT from NY and want to take a quick stop for authentic Indian meal. The drive from the interstate junction and the place is 10-15 mins so plan accordingly, otherwise if you are around the village of Brewster or Fishkill do visit!!! Thanks to Mr Manoj and Arun for the warm gesture.

We had an unbelievably outrageous experience. They seem to completely fail to understand the concept of hospitality and customers service. My 87 year old mother-in-law wanted to try Indian food for the first time in her life. She wanted curry chicken wings, but no cream sauce or tomato sauce. Asking for curry sauce in an Indian restaurant should be no problem, simple thing, logic dictates. They have chicken wings and they have numerous curry sauces. Guess again. We explained it to the first waiter, then another guy came to the table, then a third and finally a fourth. They acted as if we had asked them to cook their firstborn son. They tried to push everything except to be willing to put two items on their menu together by special request. They resisted and objected, but nobody once considered that simply bringing some sauces for a taste test would solve the issue. It was such a shameful lack of customer service, we left in outrage after the most arrogant and condescending treatment imaginable. On the way out, the so-called manager came after us to shout at us,“You know nothing about curry”. Indeed, but they know nothing about customer service. Update an. 21, 2018: This restaurant is now retaliating by getting their lackeys to post insults and personal attacks against me on Facebook and other forums. They are waging a counter-attack campaign by thugs. This has included thinly veiled threats and intimidation. That's what you are facing here. I will not be intimidated! Jaipore beware. My next step is to involve the...
