Some things to note: The inn is a motel next to a bar & grill. The motel has 6 rooms total. Every room is basically a small 2 bedroom apartment. The rooms each have a full-size bed and there's a futon in the living area. They have a TV with a cable box. The kitchen has a stovetop with no oven, a full sink, a microwave, and a mini fridge. There's also dishes in the cupboard and a sign with instructions for how to wash/disinfect them. You check in at the bar where they charge your card for the total of your stay.
What we liked: It was okay. Nothing too amazing stood out. It's a quaint little place. Probably more appealing to outdoorsy type people. It's next too what appeared to be a beach or boat launch. We were only there because we needed a place to stay close to a friend's cabin for a birthday party.
What we didn't like: The futon had a bunch of sand on it. There is no wifi. And we had 0 cell reception. Not even roaming. Our phones were useless. (Thank goodness for offline maps). The motel rooms are not initially locked. When unoccupied, the keys are kept on the table for the next guests. Seems unsafe to me. Anyone could walk in and hide out there and no one would know because there's no surveillance. Apparently when they say checkout is at 11, they mean you can't really checkout until 11. At least not in person. We were ready to leave by 930am but there was no one at the bar because it was closed and no "main office" building or room for us to formally checkout. We left the keys on the table and left because we had a 4 hour drive back home and didn't want to wait around. We didn't get a call from anyone and since we'd already been charged for our stay, I just assumed that was fine.
It's a nice place if you are looking for an unplugged getaway. We didn't have any issues with neighbor noise or noise from the bar. If you're more outdoorsy there's probably more for you to do. We didn't enjoy the drive up there because it was so long so we're probably not going to be returning. Not through any fault of the Inn, but just because I'm more accustomed to having a working cellphone and internet access and it's too...
Read more1st time camping up in the area....wanted to look for local place to eat dinner with our daughter. 1st place we went to had no seating for the 3 of us. Husband came across the Bar/Grill so we thought we'd try it.
Service started out great....we ordered a couple apps (Pretzel bites with cheese, Spinach/Artichoke dip with homemade chips, and Homemade Chips with Cheese). Chips were extremely over cooked.... Our daughter wouldn't even touch them...and she's 8. She usually loves Chips/Cheese.
Our daughter ordered chicken strips for dinner, I ordered Bacon Cheeseburger ($8.75 for just a single patty/no fries) and my husband had the Buffalo Chix wrap.
Burger and wrap were mediocre. Our daughter said her Chix strips were ok.
Server never came back to see how food was. The Server Assistant/Runner/Busser asked if everything was ok and when we told her the chips were way too overdone. They never offered to remake them or take off the bill. We had to ask bartender for another Kiddie Cocktail for our daughter.
Definitely won't be back nor recommend.
