We're locals!!! And we'll never go there again. We've been there several times before and today, and many times we had trouble finding a place to park it was so busy. But not today. The parking was half empty on a Sunday afternoon at 6pm. Thinking we should probably have a breeze getting served in a very timely matter. Boy were we mistaken!!! We sat in the bar and the waitress took the drink order immediately with only 4 other people seated at the bar. I'm not kidding, with a total of only 6 people including us seated at the bar it took 35 minutes to get two margaritas. 35 minutes to get two margaritas seated in the bar. Long story short, we waited 35 minutes for two drinks sitting in a bar with 4 other people. And the food??? Well, were there a total of 55 minutes for a table of two to get two simple dinner plates. And of course as my former waitress wife expected, when her her food came out it was completely cold, and her tacos were thoroughly soaked. Thoroughly. My dinner wasn't any better. It felt as if it was hot maybe 15 minutes before it came out. Lukewarm to say the least. Almost an hour to get food while seated at a bar with only 4 other people in it. That's unacceptable to say the least. The waitress said the Manager would come over but he/she never did, and I was tired of waisting time. So we paid our bill for the drinks and left. Again were LOCALS, who frequent the sister restaurant also. But with the parking lot half empty and only 4 other people sitting in a bar, it shouldn't take 55 minutes to be served cold food. Locals, and thinking we'll...
Read moreI stayed at Club Wyndham Bentley Brook for the entire week and decided to drive around looking for something to eat.
Norte Azul Cantina isn't a Mexican establishment; it's just a country-style eatery that offers so-called Mexican food, which I've experienced much better at Chipotle or Moe's.
Pros: The singer was the only thing I found enjoyable. 👍
Cons: Chips & Salsa hand-cut white corn tortilla chips choose: salsa roja, salsa verde or both +2
The nacho chips and salsa were not good, as they were too tough to chew and cut into the inside of my mouth.
The texture of the salsa was like soup, with a watery and light consistency. 👎
Wifey ordered Quesadilla Birria Birria broth basted crispy flour tortilla stuffed with blend of Mexican cheeses & Mexican braised beef, served with birria sauce for dipping.
Which is supposed to be flavorful braised beef, was lacking flavor. 👎
I ordered Burrito - Carnitas Pork Large flour tortilla, stuffed with rice, black beans, and cheese, with smoked pork shoulder
Which was a joke because it wasn't smoked or even tasted like it. The seasoned rice had no flavor and I want to know what seasoning was supposed to be added. 👎
I asked for lemon water, but it had a strange tasting and pungent smell, and the lemon didn't help, so I didn't finish it.👎
Norte Azul is a place I would avoid, not go again, or...
Read moreThe food is for sure really good.Im really picky when it comes to Mexican food having growing up in Houston Tx in a Hispanic community. My only problem is when i had the Barbacoa tacos a month ago it was amazing and reminded me of real tacos back home.I had them again lastnight and it was still good but not as good as before, being a chef myself its about consistent food that people rave about most,it seems something has changed drastically maybe new chef? I still recommend the spot just please if you guys read this please go back to the origanal recipe.True barbacoa is the jaw meat and skull meat obviously this isnt traditional but the first barbacoa you offered is way better than the new recipe, and the new to go containers keep moisture in and tortillas fell apart and were like wet paper, pokijg holes in the top may help.. And dont be confused by reveiw, its a honest reveiw rather or not my wife works there or not,or showed interest in cooking there. The food is great, just keep it consistent, and my opinion is the barbacoa was better before thats all,my opinion didnt need a response,im the customer..Hope this cleared up any confusion. And yes my wife is awesome thats why i married her,and been with her 20 yrs. But inspite of recipe change on barbacoa,I still Love youre food.Great job on...
