Daphine's Diner — Restaurant in Town of Sterling

Went in for the first time. The place is not a recommendation. Place wasn’t clean, Wait staff wasn’t friendly, food was fair. Requested over easy eggs and for them to not be broken and gravy on the side of my chicken fried steak. Was told that’s a lot of things to ask and not sure if they will be able to accommodate it. I also asked for a take out container. When I said I needed a larger one, I was told I should have asked for a take out. I answered I wanted to eat it but I wasn’t able to eat all of it, surprised I was food shamed for not overeating, sorry you had to spend 10 cents on my take out container, Normally when I write a review I have something good to say but I can’t find anything positive...

The outside looks a little rough, but that’s just because it’s an older building. The inside is amazing and we loved the style. The service was very quick and everyone was very kind, there was a nice sense of community as well with people talking and laughing all around. The bathroom is a bit small. A decent amount of parking. Very good food and appropriate portions. ALSO, super cheap for such good food and service. We tipped almost 20$ because we were so satisfied with the service. If I lived closer by I would want to have breakfast...

This place was very busy when we arrived. We did not have a reservation, but they managed to find us a table in short order. I had the Cod Oscar, and my wife had the Shrimp Scampi on Angle Hair Pasta. Food was exceptional, and waitress was equally as good. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere, great food, great service.
