America’s Fort Cafe changed my life. Let me tell you a story:
I was 4 years old, lost, alone, and broken. After losing my parents and being chased from my homeland, I stumbled upon this restaurant. The manager, Reynolf, taught me everything I know: how to shoot a musket, load a cannon, and survive on my own.
Reynolf was like a father to me. In 2008, while I was still a mere lad, the Cafe was besieged. They came by boat, the infamous Champlain Bandits, a group of outlaws and ruffians looking to occupy Fort Ticonderoga. Reynolf told me to run while he held them off. I’ll never forget the sight: he took down three men before being shot twice, but Reynolf did not falter. He rallied the troops from the fort and routed the bandits. Reynolf later died in a fierce fight with an elk.
America’s Fort Cafe is a place very close to my heart. Every time I go there I’m reminded of fond memories and my hero Reynolf. The...
Read moreHorrible experience here. We came in at 1:45pm on a Wednesday and after a few minutes our waitress, Amber, took our order but gave no indication that there would be any delay. We ordered a salad, sandwich and chicken tenders and we’re not served for almost an HOUR. After 45 mins we had to ASK what was going on and our waitress very flippantly said “everything is cooked to order”. There was another couple seated near us she said would be served right after us. By the time our food came and we finished eating, that couple had not received their food and got up to leave. The waitress went after them when she came to bring their food and saw they had left. Her “apology” was that the food was “not in my control”. Horrible customer service and the food was not worth the wait. This delay made us lose out on scheduled tours and really wrecked the...
Read moreWish I could give a NO star review. This place is horrible!! The service doesn't exist. Once we sat down it was a free for all to get any sort of service. 3 times the skinny blonde girl came by and told us "I'll be with you in just a minute" during her "minute" which was 17 minutes she made sure every table that already had food was checked on and enjoying their food. Our table received nothing but "I'll be with you in a minute"
We ended up leaving without ordering as we were hungry, upon walking out the waitress said we are more then welcome to purchase cold sammiches from the fridge.
Gotta say New York has some of the absolute worst food service I've ever seen. Zero respect for customers. Yall wouldn't survive in Texas with...
