Beedle's Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Town of Trempealeau

We finally tried Beedle's on Mother's Day and were seated right on time in the bar area. Service was slow and our waiter seemed a bit inexperienced. Took quite awhile just to get waters and soda. While bartender was trying to be friendly, we found his yelling to people who were coming in or leaving too loud for patrons who were trying to dine in that area.

Salad bar was decent but they don't rotate their food items so some of the more lower filled food containers had almost a slime at bottom. While the appetizer came quickly, it took nearly 90 minutes to get our main courses. And when the food finally got there, our waiter told one of our guests that they had run out of her item (which was a menu item, not a daily special). Shouldn't they have told us this well before the food came out?

We opted to skip reordering because of the large delay in getting our meals, but they still charged her for her trip to the salad bar. Food that we did get was average. We had to ask for silverware and other normal things that a waiter would...

I have not been there for a couple years. Before, have had decent service, and the salad bar was very good. I've only gotten sandwiches from there, which they were not bad either. Their menu prices were on the very high side for what you get, and the quality.

So fast forward to Jan 2021. Seems that covid has changed some things. First of all, the service this time was incredibly sad. The waitress did not get orders right,forgot things constantly, and just seem to not care. The food itself wasn't impressive. It seemed very bland and over priced. Theres a service charge to use a card too. Last but not least, a family member alone left her a $80 tip because of "feeling bad for you during the pandemic". There was not a thank you from that. Pretty rude in my books.

The business doesn't require staff to wear masks either. So as the rest of the country tries to limit the spread, this place does not. I've given the place a few tries....but can't seem to see what the hype is about. Not impressed, and...

Just passing through, so glad we picked Beedle's! Definitely not "fast food" prices, or products, but an awesome value worth going outta your way to NOT pass up! I got the Ruben (Corned Beef, Sauerkraut, & Swiss Cheese, on Marbled Rye bread, with a touch of Thousand Island dressing), plus the salad bar (only $3.95 extra on the $10 meal): The salad bar was insanely delicious; everything, from the greens, and veggies, to the dressings, were so fresh. The blue cheese, and ranch (yes I mixed) tasted like they were made with fresh cream from close by. So rich, so creamy, so good... The sandwich, oh the sandwich... Hands down, & easily within my "Lifetime Top 3 - Best Rubens"! Seriously, so darn delicious, the whole experience was perfect.
