Upsetting đ. We went to try "Sweet Basils", we wasn't very hungry but the 4 egg bacon ham Omelet with mushrooms on the side đ looked to appetizing to turn down so I ordered 1 Omelet. Me and the wife would just share this breakfast together. The waitress was pleasant and volunteered a extra plate which was convenient. So we had 2 cofees and sharing a 9.50$ Omelet, very good deal for such a hardy meal. Good service, good food... when I received the bill, Sweet Basil's charged me 3.50 for the extra plate, a plate rental is how it was explained. I was CHARGED to share my meal that was paid for đ¤¨. No mention was given when it was handed to me. You must understand, this is not a buffet, no refill just a fixed priced entree on the menu. How does an establishment charge extra for just a dish? What if i wanted to share it with my kids or Wife? So if I had 3 kids sharing my paid for Omelet, A Patron would get charged 3.50 x3 for no extra service no extra food, just to rent the extra plate. Unfortunately đ we cannot give patronage on principal. Be aware if dining in this establishment of hidden charges not disclosed. Do not drop your silverware... there may be a charge for a...
Read moreMy wife and I went there Sunday morning for the first time. Upon arrival it was somewhat busy and we were advised to find a seat anywhere we wanted. I'm not blaming the staff of one woman, but we soon realized they were short staffed. We waited a short time, but not very long. We got coffee first which was good, not like the typical coffee shop dish water. We bother ordered the classic breakfast which included 3 eggs, hash browns, toast, bacon and choice of pancakes or French toast all for $13. With this inflation that's outstanding! Anyway we got out breakfast and all I can say is WOW! The eggs were over easy, toast was Texas size toast and the bacon (a good amount) had a good flavor. Now I'm the type of person that likes hash browns with sliced potatoes and onion. I guess they're the old fashioned type. The French toast was thick with lots of cinnamon. I'm thinking it's more of a cinnamon bread made into French toast. I've never had that before and I loved it and everything else. It was all perfect and did I mention it was all for $13. Like I mentioned I've never been here before and I'm not favoring anyone, but I really liked it here and I told my wife we will definitely return...
Read moreA decent enough breakfast place but nothing spectacular.
A couple of things that are helpful to know - first is they do not take credit or debit cards; only cash. I understand there are costs associated with a method to take cards, but itâs part of the modern world. I generally expect a restaurant to process digital payments, but they donât. For us - we werenât in a rush so we ran to a nearby location and got cash.
The second thing to be aware of is they donât serve free (tap) water. If you ask for water, which we did - they bring bottled. I said thanks, but we sent it back - I wasnât going to pay for water at a restaurant.
Other than those 2 quirks - not minor quirks, I might add - the breakfast was REALLY good. My wife and I shared one of their big breakfasts - eggs, toast, bacon, 3 huge slices of fresh toast, and hash browns. Everything was really tasty.
The restaurant itself is an older building with an odd rooster theme throughout. They have trivia cards at the tables which passes the wait time for your meal, which wasnât...
