This is my very first food review…ever! Teddy’s Treats at Verona Beach State Park is a new favorite! We were camping there for the week so we had a chance to sample many menu items from the large menu offerings. All of it was stellar. Not one bad bite. Teddy’s chicken sandwich with provolone and bacon was my favorite, but everything from burgers, to chicken tenders, to fresh cut ribbon chips, to fried dough and ice cream were excellent. I suggest asking for tomato on your sandwich which are organic and grown locally. They even had a lactose free flavor of ice cream amongst many other flavors. Being lactose intolerant, ice cream is almost always avoided, so this was a special treat. They even have several seafood options and special foods you might find at the Fair! It’s so good I wish it was open year round. He is directly on the water so the view is ideal. Even on a drizzly day you can sit under a pavilion in the park. Paying park admission is totally worth it to go here but if you go after 6 pm, park admission is free! You could also stroll in to the park if you were on foot. Teddy and Pam are super welcoming as are the other employees who work there. The kitchen looks immaculate. He also has a perfectly curated camp store with everything campers and park and beach goers would want. Again, I don’t normally do reviews but this was such a stand out I...
Read moreI brought my 7 yr old grandson to the beach last week. He was enjoying the splash pad more than the lake itself. However, the highlight of our visit was our LUNCH from Teddy's Treats! His choice was the chicken tenders. Mine was a harder choice. I got the bacon cheeseburger. Fully loaded with lettuce, tomato, pickles on a huge Kiser bun! We shared a boat of ribbon fries. Actually brought some home. We are excited about returning for our next meal. Grandson wants cheeseburger I'm craving the fish sandwich. I will introduce him to the loaded ribbon fries!
Teddy's used to run the concession stand and camp store at another local campground where ny entire family booked together every year. His menu was in our camper each year. We sure do miss him there. Now we have to prepare all of our meals ourselves lol.
Congratulations on all of your success!
(Side note: I've know Ted for many years. Our son's went through school together. From elementary to graduation. I then had the pleasure of working with him in the Camden school district before my retirement. He and his wife are two of the most kind, &...
Read moreTrue to it’s name… Teddy’s treats is just that, and not just because the fried Oreos were otherworldly. We are not usually carnival food people, but something told me that this was THE place.
I’m sharing here because this little treat shop + store was so impeccable and lovely and I think it is because it is run by the owners.
From the menu and the store front, to the kitchen and mini country store… impeccable and organized.
Part of me wished that we were camping nearby so that we could buy a bunch of fun camping necessities.
I noticed a man come out to wipe down the already clean counter and I asked, “Are you Teddy?” and it was!
I hope to return to try a few other treats on the menu like fried haddock and large fried dough! Teddy! You have turned me into a carnival...
