Ignore old bad reviews - there are new owners and the old reviews aren't all too relevant anymore!
This was the ice cream place I went to all my childhood into adulthood. I am so glad to see that the new owners are still keeping the same local charm. I look forward to seeing what they do with the old mini-golf course that was kind of let go by the old owners. While I am a little disappointed that they no longer have the cookie cones, I am absolutely thrilled that they still have my favorite ice cream that I get literally nowhere else - I can never remember the name, but it is the malted ice cream. I got my tub to take home to get my fix since this place is just far enough away from my new home that I cant visit it as frequently as I did growing up - I am glad that this is still an option!
The gentleman at the counter was extremely friendly and deserves the best - please support this business! I want to see what the new owners do with it and look forward to visiting when I can...
Read moreI've gone here with the family many times before the ice cream is good. Today I decided to go with my children instead of Carvel, and I was amazed twice with the questions that the young lady asked me and what I received. She asked If I wanted a large or a small ice cream cone ?? I have never been asked that before. I thought if you are paying for ice cream cone you get one with a nice size swirl well it was not! It was more like a scoop. So when I got the other two I made sure I told her large. So I asked for a vanilla milk shake I was asked if I wanted it with soft or hard ice cream (I've never had that question asked in an ice cream parlor but hey ) I said soft and I asked for a small. When I received the milkshake it was more like a mini size literally a child size cup so 3 chocolate waffle Ice cream cones and a small/ mini size vanilla milk shake $15 and change....hmmm next time I will stick to what I know & I will...
Read moreI was walking by and figured I'd stop in for a break and a snack, it was 95+ outside. I got a small Smurf, andhalfway through wanted some strawberry. But the gentleman already loaded the smurf. So he put some strawberry on at no charge. As i sat down enjoying the chilled air, he mist have saw me sweating like crazy and got me a water (also at no charge). I insisted I pay, but he kept refusing to charge me. Seeing it still surviving is a testament to its community, and this is bar none the best service ive seen in any long standing ice cream shop. If you're ever passing by, stop in for even something small. It'll be the best $5 youll...
