Had a nice bite of an ant salad today. Felt something clinging to my tongue and picked it off and it was an ant carcass. They took forever to serve a granola bowl. Blamed it on cutting up the fruit. Somehow making a pizza to bring out first way before anything else to sit and get cold while we wait for a freaking granola bowl happened. I’m not sure if management has changed since we had a high school graduation two years ago - we called ahead to make sure they were open for six people at nine o’clock and were told the kitchen was open till 10 and we get there and they said we made a reservation for nine people and we were too late...I am so tired of being disappointed by lethargic lame service. This area has so much potential and it continues to be staffed by people who will never reach it. You’re welcome for the four stars. I hope you guys finally get it together.

We had a very poor experience at Cove Castle from start to finish. The service was completely disorganized — it took over an hour to receive our burgers, which arrived missing key condiments listed on the menu. Some had onions but no tomato, and all three came with just a stalk of romaine lettuce instead of a proper garnish. Staff kept circling back asking about drinks that were overpriced, mostly ice, and light on liquor. The sides were just as disappointing: the slaw was overly salty and inedible, the cornbread had unexpected jalapeños, and the fries were soggy. To make matters worse, a 20% tip was automatically added for our group of four adults and two children — and because it was listed on the menu, we were also taxed on that gratuity. Really bad on all fronts. Overpriced, poor-quality food, and frustrating service. Avoid.

Cove Castle is no doubt a staple for Greenwood Lake! Music culture is hands down beyond!! Downstairs has the feeling of being tucked away in the Cove with warm lighting, great food and musical talent it’s been such honor to witness! Upstairs feels like you’re in the most timeless ballroom space with views of Greenwood Lake that stand to take your breath away. Most recently my husband and I had the pleasure of taking part in The Murder Mystery Dinner. Walking in the space was transformed once again into the most intriguing Speak Easy. The show featured talented singers and actors who did an incredible job keeping the audience at the edge of their seat as we enjoyed excellent food, drinks and the suspense of did we solve the case?!

Third and final time that my family and I would be going to this restaurant. We came in earlier today with a party of 9 to sit outdoors. We love the view from our previous visits and glad they can accommodate us. Once we sat down it all went downhill. First we waiting about 10 minutes for our waitress to approach us. Mind you it was not busy! She does not greet herself and having experience with this same waitress before (which was horrendous), we were hoping it would be better this time around. WRONG!! Still don't know her name, she took our food orders and was about to walk away without taking our drink orders. We waited I kid you not a solid 10 minutes for water and the rest our drinks (beers and soda) came with our food another 10ish minutes later. Mind you we had at least 9 plates of food! Our sodas were incorrect and we had to swap amongst ourselves to keep everyone happy as legit we would probably never see the waitress again with the right drink! There were also several issues with our food to the point we weren't even hungry. Then she proceeds to look at the table and never ask how our food was or if we needed refills (which we did so we had to make her notice). We got more help from the poor food runner girl!!!!! My dad loves IPAs and needed one and it took her longer to bring it back! By the time we were done eating, the refill of the beer finally came. When we ask for the check, I never saw her move that fast during the entire time we were there!!!! Also, shoutout to the manager or whoever that came up to us and my mom explained our entire situation and with a genuine response he said he apologized and would see if he could do anything about it! NOTHING WAS DONE!!! ENJOYABLE VIEW BUT...

This was our 3rd visit to Cove Castle during the last 2 summers, and my last 2 visits have not been very good. Last time we were disappointed with the appetizers and dinner, and this last visit, we figured we would give it another try. Starting with the drinks, If you are charging $ 13 to $ 15 for cocktails, don't fill the glass with ice and leave customers with 3 to 4 sips of their beverage. 2nd issue is that the appetizers are very overpriced for the serving size and quality. The Spinach dip was very soupy/not baked and thick like other restaurants, and at $ 18, not what we would expect. The Beef Empanadas tasted great, but only 2 for $ 18, so very surprised at how little they are serving for the price. Service was ok, the bartender did not make a good cocktail, the Mojito was horrible. They did try to correct the issue with a replacement cocktail, so we did appreciate that, but the cocktails at their pricing have a lot to be desired. Stick with the bottled beers. The atmosphere would be a 5 as the view of the Lake is great and one reason we came back. But my rating for atmosphere is downgraded now to a 3 because we noticed the restaurant has now become a dog park. 2 barking dogs, 7 total dogs on site. We have a dog, ours is at home, as I wouldn't think of ruining the dinner of other patrons by having my dog there to bark through dinner. When we were leaving, another one coming in. After the disappointment with apps and drinks, and the barking, we had dinner at another restaurant on the Lake. Good luck, if you go, be prepared to dump your wallet for very little in return other...

Was looking forward to the outdoor Lakeview dining, this did not disappoint. Great difficulty getting a drink as the bar tender was busy socializing with people who appeared to be regulars. Didn't even acknowlede us. Fortunately were seated much faster than the original 30 minute wait the unhappy hostess told us to expect despite the empty tables. Had the brussel sprout appetizer but had to ask for plates utensils and napkins. The young man we requested bring them did not look very happy but did so. Waitress was friendly and bubbly and always smiling. Long wait for finner, my friend's Burger was overcooked. My portobello burger was good but those are really hard to screw up. Drinks did not have enough ice and were served warm. Not very good cocktails at that. Bill came after a long wait and the evening out with a tip came to $52 a piece. Music was mediocre, the second form of entertainment which was extremely annoying as well as concerning was watching parents of two young children stumble around intoxicated while the boy who appeared to be about 5 struggled to keep track of his sister who was about 3. At one point she was located at the table of other diners. The mom stood inches from our table while we were eating to point out ducks to the children. Lots of space but she chose to stand at our table. Someone really should have cut them off for the safety of the children. Won't be returning, spent a lot of money for a mediocre...
