Cuginos — Restaurant in Town of Wawayanda

Cuginos is a very popular and excellent family run Italian Restaurant for take-out or dining inside traditional NY Southern Italian food in Slate Hill, NY. Menu offers so many wonderful selections, from appetizers to salads, pasta dishes, hero subs and excellent pizzas, they even make the square Sicilian Pizza that my Grandmother Louisa made with semolina flour. You can tell that you are in a top-rated NY Southern Italian restaurant the minute you walk in and smell that wonderful, heavenly aroma of homemade sauces, garlic and pizza that I so much miss when growing up in Orange County, NY! I wish I could clone Cugino's and bring it west to Orange County in SCal with me, but instead I will have to add it to my yearly stop when visiting my life-long friends in OC NY! The pizza, eggplant parm hero and antipasti salad were outstanding and we had plenty of leftovers for another day or two!...

Although I can't eat pizza my family including my husband who is getting the city said it was great. So when I called the young lady I spoke with was so sweet! In a previous post I saw someone said they treat you like family, seems to be true. She was finishing with a customer in the restaurant and it was sweet to hear how she was with them. Then I asked what the dough was made of since I have done pizza without cheese. And she continued to amaze me by saying she would cater to my needs. That she had another customer she makes special pies for she never dismissed me (which I get all the time) she was super understanding and told me what everything had it in. I was blown away. Best Italian food! Small place in a small area, but don't miss out, On business and staying with friends, I wanted to buy them dinner, so they wanted it from here. So good, I bought dinner 3 times!!! Chicken Parm meal and sandwich were great, large portions and moderately priced. Next 2 nights was the eggplant; fresh and the sauce was to die for. Since I did takeout, I was there early and loved to see the family working with friends and neighbors making this a real "family" environment. Wanted to try the white pizza and will do so on my return in September. Worth the trip and you can eat in as well. Highly recommend to anyone coming in for an Army football game or if you are in the area. ...
