Trail Blazer's Tavern — Restaurant in Town of Webb Lake

The bartender was deeply insulting and disrespectful to my friends and family.

We walked in as a group to check out a new bar, hoping to change things up from our usual spots. We immediately noticed that it was going to be a wait because the lone bartender had a full crowd at the bar. That was understandable.

However, the bartender then got on a microphone, made a public announcement that the "new people" would have to wait because he was busy, and told us to be respectful, despite us having shown no signs of disrespect.

Strangely enough, we overheard him telling other customers, "Don't worry, I'm going to make them wait forever."

This was blatant disrespect just for walking in to patronize a business. If he needed to address us about the wait, he could have come over, welcomed us, and informed us it would take some time because he was working alone. He even could have asked us to leave if he wanted to, and it would have been fine if done respectfully. Instead, he chose to put on a performance for his preferred customers and effectively pushed us out the door.

I've never experienced such disrespectful treatment from a business in my life and doubt I ever will again. I certainly won't spend a dime at this establishment, nor will my family (long-established Lake Des Moines association members), our friends, guests, or likely anyone we tell this story to... which will be...

I don't think I've never ever been treated so poorly. We came in with 12 people for drinks-no plans for food and no urgent expectations. The bartender got on a microphone and announced "you new people will need to wait. I have people at the bar to take care of and be respectful." As someone whose been in the industry for 25+ years I was surprised at this "greeting". We nodded politely, but looked at each somewhat confused. It was after we heard the bartender say, "I don't (expletive) care, they can wait." We decided to leave since it was obviously a burden. As we exited, the regulars applauded. We stopped in to check out this newly reopened bar local to us. Matt, the owner, was so nice and has clearly done a LOT of work to upgrade the building!
