Woodcock Brothers Brewery — Restaurant in Town of Wilson

The brick oven Pizza is delicious. We had a bit of sampler style dinner so we could enjoy and try different food there. They dry rub and bake the bone-in wings which makes them a bit rubbery but the rub itself is spot on. The three bean chili is great. And I was pleasantly surprised the 16oz sirloin was amazing a great cut, flavourful and cooked to perfection, as well as the choice sides for that plate mashed potatoes and roasted brussels...mmmmmm, mmmmmm, yummy. There was a couple issues one including that the wait staff seemed unorganized; about three times they tried to bring other diners' plates to our table but were otherwise polite and most friendly. The sourdough pretzels left much to be desired as they came to the table cold and hardened. We had them on a previous trip they were delicious so we ordered them again unfortunately we were not impressed, however the cheese sauce was very tasty. Also, the "make your own burger" was delicious and worth the trip except we asked for a plain burger with only cheese and bacon yet they brought it with lettuce tomato and onions, luckily the onion was not directly on the bun or burger so off it went and it did not compromise the flavor. Typically we do not have dessert often following dinner and I was left wishing we had skipped out on theirs. We tried the strawberry lemon cheesecake, it was awful. The grahamcracker crust was sour and bitter (perhaps made with a healthy substitute for real butter) idk, whatever, however they made it, it was not good. The cheesecake itself was okay but very dry, crumbly. Overall, a nice place with great atmosphere, competitive prices with good food, but lacking in quality service and...

Went in today, around 5..not busy, and did not enjoy. Ordered 10 Cajun wings which were OK as far as flavors but fatty, never ever had fatty wings? Undercooked? Ordered spinach and artichoke dip and it was dry, tasteless and no good. We sent it back and they admitted it was made wrong and took it off our bill. We also had the stuffed banana peppers and they were nasty, big globs of pretty tasteless stuffing..couldn't find peppers and had red sauce or something ?? in it. Pre- made and overheated. Oily stuff floating in dish. Could not tell the spinach/artichoke dip from the stuffed banana peppers when served, just globby messes. Place smelled smokey like a BBQ place and we thought..probably good when we walked in...so wrong. Waitress was nice. So disappointed to try yet another below par restaurant. The things we ordered were not complicated...come on now! The picture is the leftover peppers which my husband refused to toss, because the bill was about 70$..(2 glasses of wine and 2 beers included.) This picture is the "cleaned up" part of leftovers. The cheese on it was rubbery and zero taste. Honestly if we weren't so hungry and trying to have a very rare date night...we should have rejected...

Let me preface this by saying that this place is normally a 4/5 stars, and the food tonight was delicious. However, the horrible and inattentive service totally negated that. We showed up at 830 on 07/26, and the service was horrible. It seemed they were more worried about cleaning to close at 10 when there was still multiple tables there, and we left by 905, then paying attention to the customers.Drinks were never refilled (even pushed towards the other side of the bar sitting empty), the server never checked on us when we got the food, never brought silverware or napkins and walked by us multiple times, never asking if we needed anything. There were only 2 other people at the bar, and multiple servers behind the bar who also walked by us, more worried about cleaning than serving the customers. I understand that people have bad days, but I am very disappointed in...
