After being seated by the bartender, she took our order for a beer and glass of wine. I asked for a Pinot bc they didn’t have moscato or white zin and she suggested the Pinot if I wanted a white wine. My Pinot comes as a red wine to the table. So I had to get a white wine bc I get migraines from red. Two waitresses taking care of four tables. We waited 15 minutes for the drinks to come and finally asked a waitress at the table next to us for our drinks. This still took awhile to get. I realize the waitresses were bringing out food, but not a word was said to us for another 20 minutes or more. Finally our waitress said in passing that it’ll be just a few minutes bc the kitchen was catching up and I get that, however, she could have still taken the order?? Read moreI didn’t have the chance to eat here while I was up in the area, but I did want to mention something about the owner. My husband and I were in a very scary situation. My 20lb dog was going into anaphylaxis from a bug bite and her face had swollen twice its size in an hour. We were very unfamiliar with the location and did not have a lot of time left before it could have been life threatening. My husband went into this establishment and asked the bartender for antihistamine medication for a dog and was given some by the owner who is “a big dog lover”. I wanted to let the owner know that if it wasn’t for your generosity that my dog would have most likely lost her life. I highly recommend visiting here and supporting these lovely people. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for...
Read moreWe use their shuttle service to bring kayaks to Oxbow and spend a afternoon 4 hrs on the flambeau. Then get out at Big Bear Lodge and we use the DNR shower's across the street. Then have drinks and eat dinner. The dishes we love are Duck on wild rice w/red cabbage & a side of spaetzle. The Ribs are tender and meaty and Prime Rib is superb if you want to treat yourself. All the food is constant no matter when we eat there. The staff is friendly and sometimes new, but they ask many times if we needed anything. Over all don't drive by you won't be...
