Hoggie Doggie's — Restaurant in Town of Woodruff

Had heard so many positives about this place, that we had to try it out. Went earlier in the week for their "ice cream." Hubby and I both ordered chocolate; it was tasteless! And it was soft serve, not "ice cream" as their website says. Thought we' d give it a second try for their food. Went there 5/21/21 @ 2:30pm; we will not be returning! My chicken sandwich had a good-sized piece of thick chicken cooked nicely, but the tomato was a piece 1.5 inches x .25 inch. Really? And the lettuce was black for an inch around the edges; how did that make it out of the kitchen? There was so much sauce on it, that the first bite had sauce down my shirt. Hubby had an $8.59 Fill-E Beef, that looked nothing like the online picture, and was hardly worth $5. It was on a regular hamburger bun, not a roll as noted online. The beef was a "hockey puck" of mushed beef, not even warmed on both sides or layered as we were led to believe. With only one piece of onion on the whole sandwich. Very disappointing! Our sides were an order of onion rings and an order of cheese curds. We got a total of 4 onion rings, 2 big and 2 small for $3.59. (We could have gone up the road to Culvers to get 15 rings for a little over $3!) Our cheese curds were disappointing as well, with 2 quarter-sized and 8 nickel-sized and smaller in our order. Extremely disappointing! We will not go back to Hoggie Doggie's, as our $ has better value...

Nice place, charming for the Northwoods. But the staff isn't all that friendly, girl who came out to take the order today in the drive thru didn't smile at all, and seemed more irritated doing the job than anything else, or maybe at irritated with the customers. And we asked specifically, twice to make sure they bag 2 items separate from the rest of the order - evidently that was too complicated a task as they separately bagged the wrong items + one more. I'll accept my fault, I should've checked. But I trusted them. Overall as I said it's charming for the Northwoods, but I won't go back and I can't recommend...

This place is great. Simple menu. I didn’t get the ice cream, but everyone else in line did. So that’s definitely a come back plan.

As you’ll see in the photos and video…. Only cute outdoor seating. They sell firewood, must be a local thing. Ample parking. Staff is super friendly.
