This little diner was fantastic! We just wanted a quick bite of lunch on our way thru the farm land of Wisconsin, and we came across this lovely place. I ordered the egg salad sandwich with a side of fries (I was trying to be cheap, that only cost about $6 total, which was amazingly cheap! ). The sandwich was good, the fries were alright (I'm kinda picky on fries). My fella got the Southern skillet, which was delicious! It was a skillet, as you'd expect it to be, but the Southern part dosed it in a delicious country gravy- so good! Instead of toast, he ordered the pancake(a slight upgrade in price, but totally worth it! ). This pancake was bigger then the plate! It had the taste(kind of) of a scrumptious funnel cake! It was one of the best pancakes he&I have tried in our long lives! We couldn't get over how big and delicious that pancake was- it'll go down in our memories as one of the best!!
The staff was friendly and delightful! The diner itself was great! Clean, nicely decorated! They have homemade pies which I would have loved to try (we were rushing) , and they encourage one to try the local dairy by offering a scoop of ice cream w/ pie, or milk w/ an entree. This place is definitely worth stopping at if your in the area! If you love a great pancake, definitely stop here...
Read moreThis cute place is just the type of restaurant you want to stop at for great service and delicious food. While traveling through the mini small towns, we decided to stop at D &G restaurant for breakfast on Sunday, June 13th. It was the beginning of a beautiful day ride on the motorcycle. The atmosphere was fantastic. Very homey and clean! We were seated in immediately noticed our server was not in the best of moods. She gave us our menus and took her drink order and returned with the beverages, and we never saw her again for refills of coffee and water until our meal came out almost a half hour later. No apology and not even looking at us in that whole time. When our food did come out, she practically threw our plates on the table. She did stop back once to quickly ask if everything was good. It was very good!!! Great job to the cooks! When we were finished, she tossed her bill on the table and walked away. We left this restaurant wondering if there was something that we did that made her angry, but knew we couldn’t have because we hardly had any interaction with her and we were very easy to please. Maybe she was having a bad day, but it was a bit disheartening as it took away the exciting feeling of visiting a small...
Read moreThe waitress after several times being told we are going to need some time to look at the menu continued to come to the table that was not clean to ask if we new what we wanted....this was my first and last visit to this restaurant...she asked like 4 times with in like 3 minutes what we wanted ...after not having enough time to even look at the other side of the menu I just ordered to get her out of our face. the soda glasses look more like a kids glass at most restaurants....you know not much more then a plastic triple shot..when ordering the pancakes butter nore syrup were delivered with it and had to ask for it....when the syrup finally came I noticed that the small plastic ketchup squeeze bottle that it came in was larger then the soda glass....needless to say I payed the bill and left a penny on the table as the tip.and feel like I over tipped..if there was a way to give less then one star this place deserves it .....I will never visit this place again! The bill was almost 30 dollars for 2 people for a simple...
