After living here since 2005, I finally stopped into Little Italyâa spot Iâve passed countless times over the years. Iâm pretty sure itâs gone through several names and owners before becoming the cozy gem it is today.
The very moment I walked in, I got that unmistakable small-town, homey feeling. You knowâthe kind that makes you feel like youâve been there before, even if itâs your first time. That was it!!
As a pescatarian, I wasnât quite sure what to expect from a place known for cheesesteaks, fries, wings, and hearty Italian fare. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a tasty option that worked for me. I went with a calzone filled with sweet peppers, grilled onions, and the classic cheese blend. Simple, but packed with flavor.
While waiting, I struck up a conversation with a gentleman I just knew had to be the owner. Turns out, I was rightâit was Anthony, the owner. We had a great chat about his distant roots in Italy, his journey through Northeast Philly, and how he landed here withhis family. His warmth and passion for food were obviousâand it was refreshing to see what felt like a family-run space where everyone pitches in.
Now letâs talk about that calzone. It was massiveâdefinitely a two-day meal for me. Juicy, cheesy, perfectly baked, and bursting with flavor. Honestly, one of the best Iâve had. Probably if my memory serves me correctly; the ONLY one I've ever had and the experience was quite fulfilling overall.
If youâre EVER craving a real Philly cheesesteakâor just want food made with heartâdo yourself a favor and check out Little Italy đŽđš . Iâm telling everyone I know: this...

We ordered wings, mozzarella sticks, large pie, broccoli bites, and cheesesteak with mayo and ketchup. First they told us an hour and fifteen minutes which sucks but what are you going to do. Second they were out of wings but we could get ten wings, odd but okay. Then we show up to pick up in one hour ; 15 minutes early and the food is already done. Great; even though everyone was just kinda hanging out and the food had probably been done for a while. We get the food home; 6 minute drive from the pizza place. This is where the real issues are. The pizza is undercooked , the crust still take slightly doughy in the middle and itâs super thin itâs falling from the pizza. Second the mozzarella sticks had been left out for far too long and the cheese was super chewy and not gooey at all. The broccoli cheddar bites must have changed and now include bacon, which I know some people might like but we didnât know changed. The wings were good but there was a random old French fry soaking in the sauce. I get it , finding good help is hard to find right now. But for 90 percent of the food going to waste after waiting this long was really upsetting, and Iâm hoping in the future it gets better because our household really...
