The Cafe in Glenstone — Restaurant in Travilah

After touring the galleries out group enjoyed lunch here. The best was the chicken sandwich with two large pieces of chicken breast cooked with tangy spices while remaining moist and tasty. The poorest were the French fries that were soggy and tasteless. My advice would be to get the side salad of vibrant spring greens instead. Lovers of kale found the kale salad delectable as it was filled with chickpeas, dried cranberries and shredded cheese. Glenstone is a treasure. The restaurant is not. Yes, I honestly expected fresh, tasty food. I haven't eaten in the outdoor cafe, but the restaurant serves overpriced, mediocre food. Be prepared to pay almost $45.00 for an average sized sandwich, an iced tea and a tiny piece of cake. The bread was not fresh, the roast beef was fatty, chewy and nothing special. Very pretty atmosphere in the wooded area, communal tables, polite service. But I ordered this herby cheese with crostini (served cold in a jar, made ahead of time) at 3:15 and by the time we had to leave at 4 never received it. I watched multiple other parties get seated and served, even with the exact dish I ordered, and didn't get an explanation or apology from the staff when I asked.
