We placed our order with the cashier after having to repeat ourselves several times because she cannot hear with the loud machine (blender?) going behind her. This place sells soft ice cream blended with a flavored syrup, so as part of our order we got one in a cone and one in a cup. A second lady brings out the cone with no syrup added so we ask if she can redo it with the syrup. She tells us we didn't order a syrup and shows us the receipt lists just plain ice cream. There is no additional cost for the syrup and we explain the receipt is wrong and after having an attitude she gets it for us.
We then stand there waiting 15 minutes for milkshakes as people after us are getting their orders. We finally get them but still did not get the second ice cream with syrup in a cup. The cashier tries to hand us someone else's order and just stares at us as we explain that isn't ours. Someone I assume was a manager comes over so we explain what we our missing and the second lady comes over and tells him we didn't want it when she brought it to us. So then I have to explain that the receipt is wrong, she brought the wrong cone, and that we still haven't received the cup we ordered. Instead of being polite and going with the old "customer is always right" motto, they both take two steps over, talking loud enough for us to hear. She starts talking about how amazed she is by how rude people can be and he replies about how you can not argue with those types of people.
I'm not exactly sure how I was rude or arguing when I was just trying to get what I ordered. After finally getting it, I saw the manager stick his finger in someone else's cup as if to test the ice cream consistency and the lady walked by with a baby and someone else's order.
Oh, and the ice cream was not even that good. Please don't waste your...
Read moreI grew up in this area, and haven't lived here for some time. Back in the day there used to be snack bar / dairy bars like this scattered through the area. They have all since dried up or been bought out by people. This is the first time in decades that I've had decent onion rings, the way I'm used to from my earlier life. They were cooked perfectly, the frying oil is pristinely clean. That keeps the onions tasting nice and light. The cheeseburger I had was excellent, probably a premade Patty but still tasty. The difference is it was cooked by somebody who knows what they're doing. The bun was absolutely perfectly grilled. With a little butter and still crispy on the face. How refreshing it is to be able to get a decent cheeseburger and some real onion rings. The onion rings even come with a nice dipping sauce it has a little twang of horseradish. I highly recommend this place! They even bring the food to your table, and you can sit at the picnic tables and join the shade and a nice breeze. To me it just...
Read moreIf you’re looking for good seasoned food in Maine then this is your place!! After being in Maine for the past week, my husband and I really have not been impressed with the food. It has lacked seasoning/flavor everywhere we tried. We come from Louisiana so that might be why but after stopping here for dinner we will definitely be back before we head out! The food was GREAT! Had flavor, cooked good, nice people. Just all around great! You won’t be disappointed. I’ve also noticed people have said it’s expensive, well so is every other restaurant around here. We spent $60+ somewhere else on 2 grill cheese and soup. We spent the same here and got fried fish tacos, blackened po boy sandwhich, soup and onion rings. Definitely worth it. They know how to cook good food! Give them a try, you won’t be...
