Title: Disappointing Experience at Whistle Stop in Trinidad
Rating: â ââââ
I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to dine at the Whistle Stop in Trinidad, and I must say that it was an incredibly disappointing experience. From the moment I walked in, it was evident that this restaurant fell far short of my expectations.
First and foremost, the service was abysmal. The staff seemed utterly disinterested in providing even a basic level of attentiveness. It took an eternity for someone to acknowledge our presence, and when they finally did, they seemed annoyed by our mere existence. Throughout the entire meal, our requests were met with indifference, and our server rarely checked on us. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers.
Moving on to the food, it was nothing short of a disaster. The menu boasted a range of dishes, but the execution was far from satisfactory. The appetizers arrived lukewarm and tasted as if they had been sitting out for hours. The main courses were equally disappointing. The presentation lacked finesse, and the flavors were bland and uninspired. It was evident that no effort was put into ensuring the quality of the dishes.
Furthermore, the ambiance was far from inviting. The interior was dimly lit, giving off a gloomy atmosphere. The furniture was worn and shabby, and the overall cleanliness left much to be desired. It felt like stepping into a neglected establishment that had seen better days.
To top it all off, the prices at Whistle Stop were outrageously high for the subpar experience we received. We left feeling not only unsatisfied with our meal but also taken advantage of.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Whistle Stop in Trinidad to anyone. The lackluster service, underwhelming food, unappealing ambiance, and exorbitant prices make this dining establishment a place to avoid. Save your time and money by seeking out a more deserving restaurant...

Iâve held off on this review because I had high hopes for this place. This review is written on this spring and summers experiences here. I have had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here.
Surroundings: the building is great! The ambience theyâve created is laid back but classy.
Food: the food is great when itâs good but there is zero consistency. Steaks are rarely cooked the way they were ordered. The quality of what comes out of the kitchen is hit or miss. Itâs not uncommon to only be able to order 2 dishes from their 4 dish menu. Wait times are insane. I have waited over an hour after ordering to receive my food many times and then had to send it back because it wasnât cooked as ordered. All of this while they were not busy.
Service: service is hit or miss. They have a couple great servers who are professional and very attentive. The same cannot be said for the others.
Employee treatment: this is the big one. Employees are not treated well in this place. I have seen people talked down to and be publicly humiliated here. Adults being spoken to as though they were unruly children. It makes for a very uncomfortable dining experience. It should also be noted that some of this behavior has been witnessed from owners of this restaurant.
I would not suggest dining here. I expect full availability of the menu and consistent quality for the prices they charge. Service needs to be much faster. Respect is a requisite for healthy and productive work environments. Itâs often uncomfortable and, honestly, annoying...
Read moreOh, I so wanted to love this place! The decor and atmosphere is gorgeous.
We arrived at 5p when it opened so obviously a big rush and the wait staff where immediately overwhelmed. It took about half an hour to get our food, and unfortunately the order was put in wrong so my husband didnât get to try the $28 chicken fried steak, but was given chicken fried chicken instead. We donât send things back, but did bring it to the attention of the waitress. She admitted it was put in wrong and gave us a free beverage.
I had a salad with chicken added. The chicken was so tough I could barely cut it (as was the chicken fried chicken). When I asked for a to go box (to take the chicken to my animals) I thought the waitress might ask how our meal was or why I added chicken and didnât eat it, but no.
Though the CFC and CFS come with green beans there are currently no other fresh vegetables (other than greens) offered as sides.
I did ask people at the table next to us how their CFS was and they said âdeliciousâ.
I understand the concept of this place. They are trying to achieve the magic unicorn of right in the middle of family dining and high end restaurant with the prices to with it. Unfortunately, if youâre going for high end, you have to deliver a high quality experience and high quality food. Every single time.
We mentioned to the manager on the way out and she said âwell youâll just have to come...
