Good burgers. Horrible service. I really struggled deciding to leave a one star or two star review. The burger was the only redeeming part of our visit. We had the older blond waitress who clearly has zero service skills. I have no idea how she can hold a job there. Apparently I ticked her off on my first question which was asking what style a particular beer was. She didn’t know there were different styles of beer….at a bar…let me repeat that…she works at a bar and didn’t know there were different styles of beer. After I explained what I was asking she blurted out “It’s a UPA!!”. After that she must have made up her mind that she would give us the worst service she could to make us pay for my horribly "rude" inquiry. My friend asked for light onions on his burger and she mumbled “I can try but I’m not making any promises”. She also wouldn’t serve us a glass of water (after ordering a beer). But she would serve us a bottle of water for $1. So apparently you have to pay for water here. When I declined the water bottle she said "Seriously!?". When the checks finally came we waited a good 10 minutes with our payments in hand but she never came back to our table to collect them. Finally my friend who had cash just offered to pay for all of our meals so we could leave. The bar is for sale so I can only hope that the service improves after the new owner takes over. The food is good so it’s a shame our waitress cost this place a 2 star review. I’ve been to the Trout Lake Tavern next door several times and have always been happy with the service there. Stopped there this weekend to get a burger. Walked in the door and stood there waiting for staff to acknowledge us to see if we are suppose to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. After what felt like forever; we seated ourselves. Placed our drink, appetizer and food order all at one time. Drink and appetizer came without incident. The table behind us was brought an appetizer, which they told the waitress, they already received their app, so she took it back off the table and started walking around asking who ordered it. Then she brought food to our table, 2 steak sandwhiches.....which we didn't order. I asked if these were the buckhorn burgers, which she repeated, 2 steak sandwhiches. I let her know we didn't order that, so she took them off our table and started walking around asking who ordered them. While all is this was going on, a lady from the kitchen came out to talk/vent with other guests/friends about the staff not getting the orders right. My husband's pop was refilled once but the waitress had to ask multiple times what he had. The only redeeming quality of this experience was the burger, which was good. Food was reasonably priced. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. Inside they can seat about 40, outside 12. There were 2 waitressing and I believe 2 kitchen staff. The older blond waitress was stand-off'ish and generally annoyed. The older brunette was pleasant and polite. I don't see us going back there as the good burger was not worth the rest of the...

The food is always great, as is the service. Recently attended the scavenger hunt and had an amazing time. A few glitches, but overall a wonderful experience! Met a lot of very nice people. Although it was not a race, when we arrived back, everything was basically finished except for the music. The drawings, auctions, food, prizes etc. Should be a little later. I was a little disappointed that everything was finished, especially since my poker hand held 4 - 10's. 😞 ( We arrived back at 6:00 instead of 5.) It would be great if this was an annual event, and even better if they also had a fall colors run. How beautiful would that be?!? I would definitely participate, as would many others.
