We arrived around 2 this afternoon after the lunch rush was wrapping up. I want to state that our visit was nice, although it started out a bit rough. We got sat quickly, but didn’t get to order anything until about 25 mins later. The manager was made aware and was super sweet. She and Ashley took good care of us after the initial wait.
We ordered the bruschetta and pierogies for an appetizer. We enjoyed the pierogies. The bruschetta just didn’t hit the mark with me. Their knife skills need to improve, as the onion was in big chunks compared to the small diced cucumber and tomato. It needed “something” ,as it was a bit dull for my taste. Something such as fresh herbs and an acid to brighten it up. I had the pork schnitzel and my husband got the shrimp and pasta. His pasta was overcooked and my plate surprisingly had no flavor. Their potatoes could have used some butter, heavy cream and fresh garlic. (Salt and pepper would be nice as well). My husband got the apple pie a la mode for dessert and it appeared to be just the local store bought pie which was shocking to me.
After reading the reviews —I was expecting a tad more pizzazz. Also for the price point, it was very underwhelming for me. But, everything was presented well, and it was cute as a button inside.
All in all— I just couldn’t share the enthusiasm as other reviewers ……..and we drove all the way from Cuyahoga Falls to dine there. To me, it wasn’t fine dining, but a step or 2 up from the local Amish food. I appreciate their kindness, but honestly I don’t think we would return. I believe they have their regulars and that’s wonderful that they do!! My opinion is just...
Read moreI just wanted to preface this with saying that any number of these issues may be in part caused by issues relating in some way to Covid 19 so take it with a grain of salt but never the less I just wanted to vent my frustration.
I placed an online order for myself and my fiance. We received a text saying the order was accepted and should be ready by 6:50 and that we'd be contacted when it was ready. So around 6:50 I head over to wait for my order. When I hadn't recieved confirmation at 7:20 that my order was ready I decided I should probably call to make sure there hasn't been an issue with my order. At which point I was informed that my order has been ready since 6:50 and that the server who answered the phone has no idea how the online order service works. After the manager comes out to my car ask me if I want my order remade I have to wait around another 20 minutes to recieve my order. And was at no point offered a refund or a reduced price of even a complimentary side.
After all that I finally get home with the food and to put it nicely it was... mediocre. I ordered a simple cheeseburger (which is pretty outrageous at $15) and somehow they forgot to add any seasoning to it what so ever. My Fiance's order of turkey was more disappointing with pieces of turkey that look like they were cut with a mold, frozen then thawed and cooked in a microwave. The included rolls were also inedible tasting days old, dry as sand and absolutely no flavor. Absolutely unacceptable at any price point and when you consider the average entree is above $20 a plate it's just shameful. You could not pay me to...
Read moreWe stopped for lunch and it was most unpleasant. After we arrived, were seated, provided water, and ordered, a group of ten people arrived. Instead of submitting our order to the kitchen, the waitress took orders from the large group. So we waited and the air conditioning was set so low that I had to go to the car to get jackets for my significant other and myself. Then we waited and waited and waited. The waitress came and apologized for the long wait. Finally, food from the kitchen arrived, but it was for the large group, even though we arrived, were seated, and ordered first. I expressed my concerns to the manager and our food, overdone burgers that were "hockey puck" style, arrived. Here's my conclusion: this "hoity toity" place seems hugely successful and, it seems, the management wants bigger profits. So they're cutting "non-essential" staff and pushing the remaining existing staff to their limit. What the management and, likely, owners are saying to me through their actions is that they're money-grubbers. I dislike money-grubbers and thus it'll be some period of time before I step foot in that restaurant again, if ever. So I obviously don't know what's happening behind the scene at The Welshfield Inn. But the quality of service and food is eroded to the point where it's probably best to select another restaurant option when you want to eat out, if you want to avoid the kind of humiliation that my significant other and I endured. I didn't take pictures of the food. But she did and she just texted me a photo of her hockey puck burger with the caption "No more...
