Tried out the newest restaurant in Troy, ID today for breakfast. WOW! Absolutely GREAT food at affordable prices.
There were three of us for breakfast. Two had the Veggie Benedict while I had chose a selection from the "Honored Senior" section of the menu. I thought that this was a nice thing for seniors. My selection was the Veggie Omelet. I also tried a half side of biscuits & gravy.
First, the Veggie Benedict. As you can see from the photo, it was amazing. It was an English muffin topped with avocado, tomato, spinach, two perfectly poached eggs all smothered in yummy hollandaise sauce and served with a side of hash browns. This could also be called Eggs Benedict Florentine. I wangled a bite from my long-suffering wife and it was wonderful. The hash browns were golden brown on the outside and tender on the inside. Again, perfect.
For my veggie omelet, it was outstanding and only $11! It was jam-packed with veggies and had a half sliced avocado with a dollop of sour cream on top. Excellent.
Then a word on the half order of biscuits and gravy I had. As you can see from the photo, while only a half order, it was a lot of food for only $2.50! The gravy was not overly full of sausage and it was creamy with just the right level of seasoning. The pepper came through perfectly.
The owners apparently ran three restaurants in California before moving up here a few years ago and just recently opened. Thank God they moved here! Their daughters work in the restaurant and I hope they will continue the great tradition of excellent food at a reasonable price that their parents have pioneered in little Troy, ID. One of their daughters, Alyssia, was our server and did a great job. Others kept rotating to our table ensuring that our coffee cups remained full.
This is now our favorite breakfast place on the Palouse. We will...
Read moreI had bacon and egg breakfast which was very good. Our service was good - the server herself, friendly. My coffee cup was a little dirty. It looked like coffee may have been dripped on the handle and went unnoticed but the inside was clean. The gravy for the biscuits was tasty and better than most. I will try this place again. There is parking to the side and in the rear. If you’re coming through with an RV or trailer you might try parking across the street near the park or on the street. They have a senior menu, good size, plenty of food. EDIT: I’ve been back since. Had the chicken sandwich on focaccia bread, my new fav. It’s oozy gooey with cheese and aioli, ckn - fresh tasting and juicy. The avocado was ripe and flavorful. Had the side salad instead of fries and it was fresh, crisp, with great salad dressing. There is no outdoor seating, so not...
Read moreWhat a great place for a home cooked breakfast or lunch! Located at the entrance of Troy, this quaint nook is going to be one of my favorite eateries in the area! Excellent menu options, super friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere make for 5 stars from me! The waitress recommended the turkey omelette (complete with 3 eggs, turkey, bacon, onions, Swiss, and avocado), and I ordered a side of Hollandaise also. It came with my choice of potatoes and toast or pancakes. My husband ordered bacon, eggs, toast, and potatoes with onions and green peppers bc he is way more basic than me. Made to order, the meal was fresh and hot and so tasty!...
