The Junction Restaurant — Restaurant in Troy

The Junction Restaurant is an establishment I would not recommend.

While I would describe my experience as merely acceptable, several aspects significantly detracted from my overall impression. The service was particularly disappointing; it felt as though the waitstaff were moving at the speed of molasses, which extended my dining experience unnecessarily.

Furthermore, the quality of the food did not meet my expectations. I sampled both the scallops and haddock on separate occasions and found them to be a little better than mediocre.

Most concerning, however, is the issue of misleading advertising. The restaurant claims to offer an 8-ounce steak; in reality, what was served appeared to be an overpriced hamburger, devoid of a bun and accompanied by unappetizing sauce and sides. Such practices must be improved, as they may mislead diners regarding the secret agenda of the menu offerings.

In summary, my experience at The Junction Restaurant fell short in multiple areas, leading me to advise potential diners to consider...

We were in jay VT for a wedding I was in, my wife was in the party so I went off resort to get breakfast it was so good that the next day she wanted to go on our way home. She had the junction omelette which was so good. And I had their special which was a country fried steak with sausage gravy and over easy eggs. It was by far one of the best breakfast I had in years and the price was perfect, better food and price than what we find in Boston. Extremely mediocre food overall. I ordered the BBQ platter which was both dry and fatty, and had none of the classic barbecue smokiness you’d expect and was just covered with a way too sweet sauce.

Service was good though; however there was an error between what was written on the handwritten receipt and the printed receipt of what my card was charged (overcharged, which I just counted as extra tip)

Do not recommend overall, I don’t think the 4.6 rating at the time of writing is at all deserved based on...
