Had been going there for years. Their 🍕 pizza was decent, and other items as well. They're also much closer than any similar restaurant. One day, during Happy Hour I was supposed to meet a friend for a frosty cold 🍺 beer. My friend was running late. I ordered a Lager, then a second, then a third. The bartender was friendly enough. The Lager not particularly cold; glass was warm. When my friend finally 📞 called to apologize for not being able to make it, I asked for my tab. I put it on a 💳 credit card (I this bartender a $1.00 tip on each of the 🍺 beers. Not a huge tip outright, except when considering the price (Happy Hour) was only $1.50. I paid 💸 cash for the tips, which was 67% of the relatively small principle. When I checked with my 🏦 bank several days later, this incompetent double charged my account. I should've filed a complaint with the BBB and the A.G's office. It was only a matter of $4.50. We ordered take-out there at least 2-3 times a month. I called immediately, and was told only the owner could issue a refund. When I asked for the same, I was told he'd be there after 4:00pm. I told her (my incompetent bartender, I'm sure) I'd stop by. I attempted to find said owner three times on my way home 🏡; at least half a dozen times on the phone 📱. All this from a regular customer, less than ten blocks away. That was ~ seven or eight years ago. WE HAVEN'T BEEN BACK SINCE !!! That $4.50 that they stole from me, has cost these slick operators somewhere between $6,000.00 - $10,000.00 in business. Not only that, I've repeated this story to anyone who has ever been there, or is in...
Read moreThe Saturday bartender clearly did not have a knowledge of liquor. (I only have spiced captain morgan… is that okay?”) and needed clarification on what a captain and ginger was. She also had very little time management skills and definitely no sense of urgency. We were a party of 2 and when we walked in, there was 1 person at the bar and a table of 4. It took almost 10 minutes for us to get served our first drink. A bunch of people did walk in after, so I understand when it took a little long to get our food order…. But then it took about a half hour after we finished our drinks before we (and several other people) got served our next drink. Bartender was walking around very slow and on her phone. I bartend and the crowd in there could have been easily manageable. We were also quite disappointed that the upstairs room, where the pool tables are, was not opened.. as we remember when it was talked about and posted about. To add insult to a very disappointing night, there was a 22% gratuity added on to our bill. Never in my 15+ years in the service industry, has gratuity been added to a two top sitting at the bar LET ALONE 22%. That tells me why the bartender felt so empowered to not actually try. I saw another review state the 22% is added to bills over $50… but with how high their prices are.. it’s almost impossible to not have a bill of $50. Overall, 0/10 do...
Read moreBathrooms were alright, that was the extent of its charm. Ive worked and eaten in many resturaunts and generally love and enjoy all aspects of food. La Roma's pizza was a day old in a cooler. I had been in the day before. The cook was shady, the general attitude of this place made me feel unwanted. I don't think they enjoy their jobs. I pointed at two slices of different styles of pizza and went to the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom and paid the ten dollars for the two slices and a drink. I left and got into the takeout box in my truck and realized he had given me not the two slices I requested but instead the two tiniest slivers he had. I would have thought that if you were going to sell day old food that you would ensure that the portion was satisfactory. It didn't upset my stomach but the service...
