When we first arrived, there was a 45 minute wait—which is totally fine because we were visiting on a recommendation (for the breadsticks), and while waiting, someone told us it was worth the wait, especially for the Vivio's pizza special.

Because of all of the recommendations, and overall busy-ness, I had high hopes, but it was just downright disappointing. All four of us agreed it was awful. The service was good, and the place was relatively clean and warm. The food, however, was bad from the start.

We were first served breadsticks (which, remember, had been recommended to us) and garlic bread. The breadsticks were just normal crouton-style italian breadsticks—nothing fancy, but the garlic bread was awful. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a week. It was absolutely stale, and didn't taste very garlicky at all.

Our salads were underwhelming. Romaine would have been a better choice than the watery iceberg lettuce we got. My main entree (frog legs) was decent, but my wife's sicilian spaghetti looked like something that I might make by accident at home. A whole lot of oil and garlic. As a side, I got penne with a meat sauce which must have been from a can, because that's exactly how it tasted.

We didn't stay for dessert, and we admittedly didn't get pizza (which could possibly be the saving grace of this restaurant?) but we were all very confused by the number of people raving about it. I live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, which has a large population of Italians, and a lot of great Italian food. I am really not sure how this passes with a 5 star rating, let alone even as a "good Italian restaurant" when I wouldn't even be proud to make this food at home. I sure hope the pizza is good, for...

So we went Vivio’s for dinner for the very last time ! I have been there a few times over the years I keep hoping that it will be good and every single time the food sucked so bad and tonite was no different my salad was so wet I had to put a napkin down to soak up all the water all the dressing ran right off then I get my meal and it was also not very good (chicken cacciatore) tiny dry tasteless pieces of chicken smothered with equally tasteless sauce with green pepper onions and canned mushrooms on a bed of extremely undercooked spaghetti noodles to which those were also wet (the noodles) could not even eat it waitress comes by asks how’s the pizza Diane’s meal and the table next to me says (it sucks they were talking about their pizza) and yes that would have been my answer too but they beat me to it then the waitress says is your meal horrible ? I SAID YES She says tell me what’s wrong I tell her and she says okay I know I will go tell them I also told her to ask them to taste it. The waitress was super nice I feel she knew it was garbage she comped my meal. A couple months ago there was a post on Facebook about vivios and I said that I had not had a good meal there ever and the new owner came out and said it’s under new owners you might want to try it again I said I would well you still suck! Do not waste your time or your money going to this restaurant IF YOU WANT GOOD FOOD GO TO MICHEALS THE DLB HACKMATACK LIBBYS DOWNTOWN you won’t be...

This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had, hands down. Our meal started with burnt toast and rock hard, stale breadsticks. My husband ordered a shrimp pasta that was average and clearly came from canned food, we paid $20. I ordered Vivíos style whitefish. What I received was a salad plate with tiniest piece of fish that was clearly baked from frozen since my plate was wet. The fish was unseasoned and topped with three slices of onion and a slice of tomato on top. There was a small bowl with corn that had just been dumped out of a can and warmed up. No butter, no salt, no pepper... just dumped out of a can. Along with the corn and weird fish there were 5 grapes, coleslaw that I didn’t try, and a plate of fries... it was the weirdest and most poorly prepared plate, I’ve ever had and I paid $16 for it. Our lemonade tasted like Crystal Lite. Our sons ordered pizza which was pretty tasty and was almost the saving grace from our experience, except that everyone who ate it is now throwing up. Besides the food, the carpet was incredibly dirty throughout.

I truly hate complaining as I know this is someone’s livelihood. But someone’s got to know! This restaurant was highly recommended to us so I can’t help but wonder if they were hit badly by COVID and are trying to survive. However, we paid so much money for terrible food and to get sick and it is...

I had an incredibly enjoyable experience at this restaurant, thanks to its unique taxidermy decor that added a fun and quirky ambiance. The attention to detail in the decor created a visually captivating atmosphere, making the dining experience truly memorable. And let's talk about their Vivios specialty pizza—oh my, it was absolutely delicious! Every bite was a burst of flavors that left me craving for more. The combination of ingredients was expertly crafted, resulting in a pizza that was both satisfying and indulgent. The crust was perfectly baked, with a delightful balance of crispiness and chewiness. Beyond the exceptional decor and mouthwatering pizza, the service provided by the staff was great. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcomed throughout our visit. The overall dining experience was enhanced by their warm hospitality. If you're looking for a place that offers a lively atmosphere with a touch of whimsy, coupled with outstanding pizza, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Especially after a long day of river fun.

We visited for dinner on a Sunday in July. There's a nice large parking lot, which is needed because it can get very busy. There was a 40 minute wait. There's a beer garden you can wait in. There's also a fenced playground for younger kids. We were seated and the service was friendly. The interior is log cabin with taxidermy of local animals on the walls. There are three separate dining rooms and a large stone fire place. The tables are covered with checkered clothes. We ordered two pizzas, spaghetti and vegetable lasagna. Everything tasted amazing. We would definitely go back

What a great spot! It is an old log cabin and it's beautiful. Some of the taxidermy is a bit rough looking and should be freshened up. Can you even do that? We started a little wonky, but our waitress was split between 2 tables weird. She had bigger tables at both ends of the room, and other wait staff was in the middle. Once she got to us, she was great. Very friendly and took care of us well. The food portions were large and delicious. We were very happy to bring home leftovers for lunch. We will be back!
