First time to cowboys. Regular at Electric Cowboy in Longview. Great sized dance floor and decent music ...except the DJ can't read the crowd. I was there for four hours and seven...seven... songs played with an empty dance floor. The songs played and no one liked the songs enough to dance. That's unacceptable. If no one's dancing...move on! Second...who charges $1.50 for TAP WATER!? It was $1.50 for bottled AND for TAP. The pathetic manager,Jake, wouldn't own either of these complaints. "It's not his fault people don't want to party...and it's state tax that requires they charge $1.50 for tap water." Jake the manger should receive some state paid training...the customer's opinion should be considered. I don't recall getting charged ONCE for tap at a restaurant or bar in the state or Texas. That just sounds like pressure to buy bottled water!!! If customer service is what you're looking for, the Electric Cowboy in Longview is your bar. Not Cowboys in Tyler. Too bad... I Soo would have brought friends. I won't have them waste...
Read moreWe went to Cowboys for the first time, last night (Saturday). We are in our 40s and we had a great time. Cover was $5 a person. There was different drink specials throughout the night, at great prices. We went about 9:00. Not alot of people at that point. More people showed up by the end of the night. Closed at 1am.
Crowd was a good mix of ages. Music was good. Great mix in country from when we were growing up and current country. Towards the end of the night there were spurts of non country music for the younger crowd and line dance segments. This was very fun for us. As with our age, we are kind of in the middle age range so we liked both the new and old music.
We also enjoyed watching and learning new dances and steps. There were quite a few couples that were very talented dances. Free dance lessons on Thurs. Evenings at 6:30 pm. Hoping to be...
Read moreAltho a name change, hasn't drawn us to thinking it'll draw in the ppl. Looks nicer, roomier, but the service at the bar was impatiently slow that the ppl on either side of me had to yell at the girl to get her attn so I could get another beer or we could order another kitchen item. And the place was dead, for a CowPies (ok Cowboys) game, not a good sign for a Sunday NFL game at a bar. 3rd time I've been here in 2 years, and it takes a lot for me to get there again. One time, girlfriend and I walked out, again, on a Sunday NFL game day, just dead, and wanted some NFL crowd noise. Found another bar, and it was great. Dunno what the place can do, but the Sports Radio Advertising was all about the Sunday game day experience. Phewie, not so much... BUT, the $12.99 bucket 'o wings...
