Needing a quick bite to eat while passing through southern Perry County, not having a lot of options, we saw The Local Table on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! It's a very clean and simple feeling atmosphere, but still has a freshness to it. The menu is simple, but lots of homestyle options from soups, sandwiches, wraps, ice cream, and some delicious looking baked goods. From the moment I walked in the door, it just felt like they wanted us there, not all restaurants seem like they serve because they enjoy it, but this one does. There was a very positive vibe from every employee that we encountered, sharing a genuine heart of service and caring for the customer and an excitement to serve new customers. The wait seemed a little longer than I would have anticipated for my wife's burger and my grilled chicken sandwich, but most of the tables were full and it happens, so no big deal. The food was hot, seemed very fresh, rather than frozen and processed meats, the lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and bonus points for being generous with the pickle slices. So many places give you one or two and they're just okay, but these pickles are excellent and they give you enough to spread across your sandwich, adding a little extra pop to each bite! The bathrooms were clean and fresh as well and there is a back room for overflow or private settings. The only thing that disappointed me was that I forgot to get some pictures to share on my review, I guess I'll have to return again sometime soon. Great addition to the Loysville community, it certainly feels like a local eatery that will contribute to the community and not just exist to claim a profit. I look forward...
Read moreThis is the second incident of poor service at the Local Table. After the first time of poor service we thought that it was perhaps a bad day or staffing issues. But today again from the same server with initials (AD). We received terrible service. We were seated promptly but did not receive service for approximately fifteen minutes. Others that arrived after us received immediate prompt service from the same waitress. Those same two tables also received their orders (food) before us. The waitress messed up our order and also had to be asked for coffee refills in addition she did not bring any creamer and we had to go to the counter and ask for creamer. After placing the order we did not receive our food for twenty minutes. The whole breakfast meal took close to an hour for us to receive. We were dumbfounded to as why this has happened again to us by the same waitress as this is an Amish owned and run establishment. We would not recommend this establishment to anyone due to poor service. We will not be returning there are other restaurants in Perry county that are similarly priced and have much better...
Read moreWe usually get great service here, but the last two times have been awful. One waitress in particular, A.D , was absolutely horrible. Waited 20 minutes just to get a coffee, and waited on, mind others that came after were served quickly. Place was not that busy. Her attitude was unprofessional and unpleasant. This is the second time we have had this particular waitress and have never had a good experience with her. All the other waitresses have been fabulous. She even messed up our order and was not even apologetic about it. We were there for almost an hour and a half just for breakfast!!! I had to ask for a refill on coffee and when I did, I asked for cream and then she didn’t even bring the cream. I again asked for cream, and she went off doing other things. I had to actually go up to the counter and ask for cream from the other waitress. This young lady should not even be in the service industry. We will not be going back, it’s a shame as others are nice and good. One bad apple has wrecked it...
