Russ's Place — Restaurant in Umatilla

We stopped here over the weekend, thinking it would be a nice spot for lunch. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The greeting was cold and unwelcoming, and after waiting 30 minutes to be seated, while the waitress passed us multiple times without acknowledgment we ended up seating ourselves. We also mentioned it was our first visit, the response was simply, “Oh, okay,” with no effort to make us feel welcome.

We placed our food order at 1:30 p.m., but by 2:30 p.m. it still hadn’t arrived. Meanwhile, other customers seemingly regulars were greeted warmly, seated immediately, and served quickly. Despite being told several times the food was “almost ready,” it never came.

Just tried the wings, at first I was put off cause I prefer my wings fried and crispy. The wings are baked. But let me explain. Once I bit into them the flavor of the sauce and the tenderness of the meat was amazing. I went to this place for wings and had low expectations. But they were exceptional. I highly recommend the wings, they might be a bit soggy but they are absolutely delicious.
