Finally!!! A fantastic Chinese restaurant in Central Maine! Great fresh tasty food at reasonable prices, huge portions! This unassuming establishment appears meek on the outside, but is turning out powerful, masterful, amazing dishes in tiny Unity, Maine. Nice staff. Super fresh ingredients, a rich variety of vegetables and the QUALITY!!!! The meats, seafood, sauces -- WOW!! The beef teriyaki was so tender and the seasonings were flavorful and had depth. The shrimp were delicious.
The dishes I especially recommend are:
° Pork with mixed vegetables (amazing sauce!!) Served with white rice on the side; ° LoMein, any variety; ° Beef +/- chicken teriyaki ° Won ton soup (depth of flavor, off the charts!) ° Boneless ribs ° Shrimp -- any of the preparations
Both the chicken and pork were luscious, moist, silky texture, brimming with delectable flavors. The 🦀 Rangoon was above average, and not too sweet. All the fried morsels were crispy, none were greasy. Order ANYTHING! The combo dinners are an excellent value..
You won't be disappointed, portions are very generous. Remember to request: sauces, chopsticks, napkins -- unless you request it, it's not included automatically for take-out orders. They sell 2-liter bottles of soda pop (Coca-Cola products!!) as well, which allows you to avoid a separate stop at the convenience store to pick up beverages!
Real fried rice! Not the peculiar brown stuff served at every other place I've tried in the past ten years! Maine -- what the heck have you been telling people is fried rice?! No, no, no! Real fried rice can be found here.
I'm spoiled, having lived 25+ yrs in San Francisco, I'm used to the finest, the best, world class dining for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, etc cuisine. Dining here in Maine has been the biggest disappointment, second only to the lack of authentic Mexican cuisine and any other ethnic cuisine you can think of...please, someone, open an authentic Mexican...
Read moreAs someone who recently moved here from Mass I can attest that this is some good stuff! I’ve been searching for good all around Chinese food for a while since I moved six weeks ago and this is the place. I wish they didn’t give the packets of hot mustard and made their own but I make it at home anyway. I love the flavor in the rangoons and the beef teriyaki. For ever my favorite thing was the beef teriyaki but over the years it has gotten worse and worse but this place is making it my go too again! Keep up...
Read moreThe food was dry and lacking of flavor. General Tso's tasted like I was eating frozen chicken bites covered in some kind of goo that even after reheating didn't create a sauce. It remained clumpy and tacky as if too much cornstarch was used. The white rice was the best part of the meal even if it reminded me of sushi rice. The food was BAD, the one star is only because...
