This review is painful to write, but it needs to be done. In 2018, my husband and I were married at Swing at Lykens Valley. At the time, Kevin Jury was the manager and he was excellent. When Kevin left, this place went into the gutter. This evening, after a year of not going, we decided to try Swing again. We were met with absolutely HORRIBLE service. The "valley" doesn't have many food establishments, so our options are already limited. Our "server" rarely came to our table and then she did, she didn't listen. Our appetizer came with our entrees, and then she never returned. I requested the manager. I believe her name is Michelle. I expressed the terrible service we received. Michelle apologized and brought our bill. I paid, and left zero tip. Rightfully so. At that moment, the server returned as we were leaving. While we were exiting, she loudly proclaimed "wow, you couldn't even leave 15%. Thanks a lot. Thanks for nothing". We continued to our vehicle and immediately called the manager who stated she would deal with it. I am not mandated to tip, especially when I received terrible service. The audacity this server had to make rude comments to us behind our physical backs is unheard of. What a shame. We had great memories here and have literally given this establishment thousands of dollars for our wedding. We will...
Read moreWe were out to Tobias lake and stopped here for lunch on our way home. The environment was very nice and it seems like they are trying to get into the local and off-brand beers throughout the country. The server good and attentive and they brought out appetizers out very quick (under 10 min). Environment was clean and conducive to sit down and enjoy our meals. The crab dip was ok, it had a very strong crab taste, but not bad overall. The new England clam chowder tasted delicious but was watery on consistency. The hamburger was standard, nothing special. I enjoyed the French fries, they were fresh and the seasons they use made them taste good. The cranberry salad was standard, nothing unique. The Buffalo chicken sandwich did not have enough sauce. The fish and chips, the fish tasted excellent and flaked off nicely. The lemon and blueberry marzipan cake was delicious. As far as the prices, the typical sandwich plate ranged from $8.00-20.00 and dinner was $20.00 and up. If we would be in the area again, we would probably go here. The food wasn't truly unique but it was good enough we would...
Read moreThe menu is pretty basic, nothing too unique. My appetizer was quite pricey for only 6 small coconut shrimp and they were very greasy. My steak was very overcooked and my potato was very cold. My aunt ordered the same meal as me and her steak was cooked much better than mine (her potato was cold too though).
The service was a little less than desirable too. Mainly focused on the bar area. The waitress checked on us once, I had to go to the bar and search for her for the check. It was also quite expensive for three. I don't mind paying a lot if the service and food are good but it didn't meet my expectations this time.
All in all this experience was bad but my prior experiences were not so bad. The food was never mind blowing but is usually alright. The menu is very basic, changes little, and is a touch pricey. The restaurant is much more bar centric so you may have a better experience there. I'll still stop in from...
