Third visit brings an upgrade of one star. This time, both the staff and the food were much better that our previous visits. The same waiter was there, and while he did not wait on us, we did notice he was much better than during our visit. Our waitress was excellent and took care of everything efficiently and quickly.
We ordered the Mushroom Marsala appetizer and it was rich and flavorful with a delicious marsala flavor with a hint of sweetness. The Wedding soup was very good. The side salad was very ordinary. The bread plate was also very ordinary.
For our entrees, we went with the Blackened Spots and the Chicken Arrabiatta. These were very confusing dishes. Their flavors were excellent - however the names make you expect something different than what we were served. For instance, I have never been served an Arrabiatta sauce that was creamy and yellow - they have always been red. The Blackening on the fish was non-existent - there was a tinge of black pepper flavor, but it was not visible. Again, they were excellent dishes and tasted wonderful, but not what we expected given their names!
With a bottle of wine, our meal worked out to a bit over $50 per person which was very reasonable given that we took home leftovers for two more lunches!
Second visit
On our previous visit, the food was really good but the waiter was strange. This time, the waitress was excellent, but the food was not the best. Not sure if the restaurant is going down hill, or if it's just what we ordered? In any case, one star went off my rating due to this experience.
We ordered the Macaroni and cheese and were disappointed to see that it was made with Velveeta. It also promised a lot of Bacon and Tomatoes. Did not get much Bacon at all, and had some tomatoes, but not that many.
The Spots Frangelico was strangely sweet.
The Pasta Vesuvio and the Tomato Basil Salmon were better, but only average.
We also noticed that the place was not as full as on our last visit. Is the bloom off the rose? Finally, for a place that is called "All American" why is menu chock full of almost all...
Read moreI hate leaving negative reviews but this was really disappointing. Tonight we decided to try All American Bistro for the first time, to go, after work. I ordered the BBQ bacon burger with fries and wedding soup, and my husband ordered the fish sandwich with fries and a Cesar salad. Neither of us finished half our meal before we threw it away. The biggest issue I had with my burger meal is 1, the wedding soup had zero Italian meatballs in it? Im not sure if the recipe used doesn't use them, but I have never had wedding soup with just the broth and acini de Pepe. The BBQ burger had no bbq sauce. How does a BBQ burger have no BBQ sauce? The bacon was soggy and all fat. It was just a very bland and dry burger. The fries were soggy. We did pick up in the time frame stated so Im not sure if being in the to go container was a factor or not. The fish sandwich was fine, it was hard to eat as the fish was too large for the bun, a hamburger style bun is used over a longer hoagie style bun. Again the fries were soggy. Overall it was not a great meal, and was fairly disappointing because we had so many recommendations for this place, with high praise. Our experience might have just been a fluke, but it was none the less disappointing. I provided photos of my Burger...
Read moreFirst time my wife and I visited this establishment and we weren’t disappointed. Our server was Matt and he took excellent care of us, made recommendations, and was very personable. We started with the breaded zucchini appetizer. Thinly sliced, light and served with an excellent homemade marinara sauce. My wife ordered the salmon piccata and was very happy with her selection. It came with soup or a salad. My wife chose the salad and it arrived with house made ranch dressing. I tasted it and while I normally don’t order ranch dressing I found it excellent. I ordered the gnocchi piedmont with the wedding soup instead of a salad. Both were delicious. I commented to Matt that all the gnocchi piedmont needed was bread to get every drop of the excellent sauce and he appeared with a basket of fresh bread. We’ll...
