Marina Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Utica South Township

I'll keep this review short and get right to it. My wife and I ordered burgers. I was asked how I wanted mine(well done). My wife was not asked how she wanted hers. Her burger was quite pink in the middle but we didn't notice until half way through the burger because it was dark outside. The staff addressed our issue by asking if we wanted another burger or a refund. We had already been there for a long time and decided on the refund. The waitress then said to us "I can only refund half of the price since you ate the fries. If I do full refunds my manager will yell at me". So instead of just fully refunding us she decided to try and illicit sympathy for her screw up. Mistakes are ok but making excuses and not owning up to them is not.

The tater tots were good though. Their drinks taste like pure syrup if you get a fruity one and water if you order...

The prime melt was amazing but with that being said I've never seen such unorganized service in my life and I've been in hospitality management for 20 years on the service side and the bar side. The bartender who seemed to be the manager or owner had no business being behind a bar couldn't pour a proper tap couldn't hold the bottle properly to make a good pour also couldn't multitask well. They have a beautiful atmosphere if someone would play quarterback for the staff and get a proper bartender this place could be stellar. This is way too nice of place for this many errors. I also watched you guys lose 15 guests while I ate cause of poor hosting they just left. First and last time at this establishment. Call me crazy, but I assumed I would get more than 6 small onion rings for $8. Onion shortage? We didn’t get anything other than a couple pickles for our hamburgers either. No lettuce, no tomato, and you guessed it - no onion. We had to ask for ketchup and mustard. Our waitress was new so we cut her some slack, especially since sitting at the bar instead of asking us if we needed anything, was such a daunting task. Food was not terrible in taste but they DEFINITELY need a bar rescue mission and more training. We still tipped 20% but we won’t be back. I’ll assume they won’t last with that kind of service or...
