Stoped in for a bite. Parking was good and that was the highlight of the experience at Ofelia’s. The waitress we had was not very attentive. Maybe she was having an “off day” while at work, the service definitely was not good. Had to ask for basic things like our silver ware, paper towels. No chips, no salsa but after reading a previous rating I am glad we didn’t get any. One of our orders was wrong and a another we had to ask for it a second time. While this is going on I can see the remaining staff was taking care of business, checking in on their tables and being polite. Once we received our plates the food looked really good but it was bland. Time came to pay and leave and the our waitress was “MIA” walked up to the cashier to pay and the poor woman was not having a good day her self. Not a peep out her, she had no interest in our experience at her place of employment, at the end of the business transaction we didn’t even get a thank you for your business. I really was looking forward to dining here as it was highly recommended. Next I am in the area I will be...
Read moreDo not recommend! Literally go anywhere but here. The inside is dirty! That should’ve been our sign to walk out. I could go in to detail about the service but bottom line it was awful. My husbands food came out first. He ordered a kimi plate and it looked disgusting. We are from the valley. We know good Mexican food. This was all mush. Soggy tortillas, you could taste the old oil it was cooked it. 10 min later my kids got their French toast and it was literally 2 slices of bread, nothing else, for $8. I’m still shocked at that one. Not sure why that one took so long to come out. Finally after everyone was done with their food and my kids were definitely ready to leave, my food came out. I got the puffy tacos and I had the same old greasy taste as my husband. We got those 3 things and 4 drinks. Tell me how all that was $60. Save yourself and...
Read moreHmmm, don't know about the food, because we left after being harassed by Ophelia herself. I was returning to San Antonio after a week in Big Bend and before exiting my vehicle in the parking lot, I paused to review my trip plan. I heard a rapping on my door window and there she stood glaring. After rolling my window down she demanded to know if I was going to "buy something." I'm from Southwest Texas and know the difference between quirky local customs and outright greedy/outlandish behavior. She exhibited the latter. It was so blatantly clear that she was willing to be rude to prevent her parking lot from being anything but a cash generating asset. Thankful my girlfriend and I have a sense of humor. We laughed it off and ate at the restaurant across highway. The memory of Ophelia stomping back into her establishment has forever become a fond...
