Went on Mother's Day. They had a fixed menu which is fine but was not mentioned on their website. We had to convince the staff that our 2 kids (3 and under) would only eat pasta with red sauce which was only provided as a side dish with a meal. We ordered our food and drink when the waitress finally came around. She mentioned house hot it was in there as there are no windows open, no fans and no AC. As I wiped the sweat from my brow I took a sip out of my beer to taste the stalest Dogfish that has ever touched my tastebuds. I tried my brothers Fattire to find the same gross sour taste, assuming the minimal beer selection they have was being pumped through unserviced taps and lines. When my ceasar salad came out it was on a small plate. Chopped handful of romaine probably from a bag, 2 croutons that were 100% store bought, dusted parm that tasted fake and no dressing or salad fork. The food came out as we succumbed to the idea that we should just go with a Pinot as that SHOULD be fresh. As my family started eating I realized that the 5 times I had to clear my own table, I gave up my fork after using it for my "salad". I waited 5+ minutes until a waitress saw me sitting there while everyone ate and asked if I needed anything. We ordered 2 glasses or a specific pinot and I got my fork. The Princes boxed penne they served was mediocre at best, the veal was ok but almost room temp by the time I could eat it ::smacks lips::, the pinot tastes off too. Finally we were on the last leg of this misadventure, dessert. 3 options, we each got a different one to go as my kids were going to lose it and I was sweating through my shirt. They came with their near $200 bill and I tipped accordingly, then I realized that the pinot that I ordered was actually a cheap chianti that goes for about 11 bucks a gallon, good thing I paid 8 bucks a cup (and I mean cup, no wine glasses available so they dumped it into a water cup). They brought our dessert in the bag and we bailed quickly to get some fresh air. On the ride home, I thought about it and said "well that was awful, but at least it came with desserts and stuff to almost make it seem worth 40 bucks a plate". We get home and my daughter can't hold her excitement for her treat. I open the bag and see my wife's cheesecake on top and I hand it to her. I grab the next one to find.... another fn salad.... and the last one to find some bread (probably the only good thing this place has).
At every level, this place was awful. I had gone here once before when they first opened and put it off to growing pains on how horrendous and overpriced it was.
Do not waste your time here. Get some penne from your local grocery store or something and slap some ragu on it. You'll be happier and save...
Read moreI just discovered this gem three years ago and was I missing out before that! This is my favorite restaurant! First, the atmosphere. The Italian theming and music make for a real Italian experience and quite the romantic dinner for two! Next, the food. It’s fantastic! From the complimentary bread, to the salad, appetizer and meal, the portions are large and the food delicious! The desserts are homemade . I always get the tiramisu. It’s not that frozen slice you get everywhere else. It is authentically home made right there and it’s soooo good! The service, very attentive and there is always someone there to fill your water with the on table carafe and attend to every need. I’ve seen comments about waiting for food. This is fine dining. Everything is made fresh by a chef. Take the time to enjoy each course What is the hurry. Good food takes time to prepare. If you are in a rush or impatient go to McDonalds because fine dining is not for you. We’ve never waited for any out of the ordinary length of time. It’s just this instant gratification generation that don’t want to wait for anything. Whatever the wait,...
Read moreAvoid this place. Had reservations at 5:30, arrived a couple minutes early and waited 20 minutes to be seated.
Once seated, we waited 30 minutes to get water and plate settings, another 15 for bread and then we placed our orders. It took 20-30minutes to get a terrible salad that was not washed well, had a big clump of dirt and the salad was a half serving you would get really anywhere else. It took 30 more minutes to get our entres, and for the most part, everyone though it was alright. Veal and steak were tough. The steak was undercooked which wasnt a huge deal, though the cut of steak was terible. $5 cut and they charged $42. Thick rubbery tendons through the entire cut. The chef also confused banana pepper and cherry peppers. Banana peppers were on the steak and were straight from the jar, tasted of vineagar. About 30 minutes after getting the entres, we were done. Ate not even half the steak, which they kindly refunded. Ask for deserts to go, after being there for over 2.5 hours.
Waitress was nice, but didnt check on us, and service very slow through entire visit. Left hungry. Will...
