I decided to take a break from driving I-5 to try somewhere new (to me) for breakfast. Vader is definately not on the highway, and that turns out to be a good thing! The Little Crane is not fancy, but it's a great small-town cafe with good food, at reasonable prices. I selected the Chef Special, which was one egg, one meat, and your choice of pancake, waffle, or French toast. I opted for the French toast. Each item on the plate was well executed. The French toast was not your typical over-the-top powdered-up restaurant version, but more like your mom used to make - and I found that refreshing. I recommend taking the scenic side trip to Vader. I'll be going back. Oh yes, and since the cafe is located adjacent to BNSF's Seattle - Portland mainline, there's some Big Time railroading to watch, both freight and passenger - Union Pacific has trackage righrs. UPDATE: Found myself near Vader this morning and decided to take the 3-mile detour off I-5. Went for the Waffle version of the Chef's special this time (you can also get a pancake). This is probably better than the French Toast version! The waffle was thick like the Belgian variety and was perfect with warmed syrup.

Ouch! Normally we love this place & get to-go when we don't have time to stop in. This time was a real let down. In the past our order would either have foil or nothing on the bottom. As you can see from the photos, it transferred the ink to the hot food. Both orders had it, which made us unwilling to finish. Who knows what kind of chemicals are in that ink! It's probably just fine in small doses, but not appetizing. Nothing like this has ever happened when we dine in & the food/service is always great then. When there's nothing on the bottom & the food is put in right off the grill, sometimes the Styrofoam will melt a bit, which can't be good for you to consume! So if you're looking to get hot food to-go, be sure to ask for foil in the bottom, or expect a few extra ingredients to come with it.

Update from March 25th. A great local restaurant. Another great dinner. The food is prepared to perfection each and every time. We went there for for the Friday night Prime Rib. We ordered prime rib, very "rare". It was the best Prime Rib meals we have had in a long time. The meat was very flavorful, cooked to profection. The sides; green beans, baked potato, salad and ice cream Sunday made it a complete meal. Great service, and very friendly staff. The restaurant was very busy. People were coming and going all the time we were there.. The restaurant was kept very clean. Amanda was a great waitress and the cook, is the best.

My friend and I stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner after a day of looking at a property near Vader. We ordered two Bacon Cheeseburger baskets with Pepsi and Diet Pepsi, carry out, with only meager expectations (based on experiences with other small town cafe's). What an absolute joy to get the best burgers we've found within 75 miles of Vader! LARGE traditional bacon cheeseburgers with perfect buns, thick, juicy, perfectly cooked patties, right amount of cheese and plenty of fries. I give 5 stars for the food...but only 4 for the service. The staff was very friendly and helpful and food was cooked to order in record time. The only disappointment...no napkins, salt, pepper or ketchup in bag when delivered and none offered. This was very annoying as we were eating in the vehicle and didn't discover the omission until too late. Luckily, being experienced travelers, we had a few salt, pepper and ketchup for such "emergencies" but... only one small napkin, for her, stashed in the console. Needless to say, I changed my shirt when I got home. Please ask for them if you want/need them so you can fully enjoy the truly exceptional burger! I...

For two decades, Little Crane has been my go-to spot for exceptional dining experiences. The food here is consistently outstanding, showcasing a diverse range of flavors and textures that never fail to impress. Whether I'm indulging in their succulent steaks or savoring their amazing soups, each dish is a testament to the skill and passion of the chefs behind the scenes. Little Crane's commitment to using fresh ingredients and delivering top-notch service has kept me coming back time and time again.

While browsing through reviews, I've noticed the occasional critique, but they pale in comparison to the overwhelming praise showered upon Little Crane. With a customer base exceeding 100,000, it's inevitable that mistakes may occur sporadically. However, what truly sets this restaurant apart is its ability to rise above any shortcomings and consistently deliver an exceptional dining experience. Little Crane's dedication to feeding everyone who walks through its doors, coupled with its unwavering commitment to excellence, makes it a true gem in the...
