I needed an afternoon pick-me-up and I happened past this little drive through joint. Now, if I'm going to be completely honest, I'm leery about these types of stands. Some are fantastic and some serve swill, but the other option was probably Starbucks (maybe??? I don't know the area, but desperate times will drive a guy to Starbucks) I'm so glad BBCC just chanced its way into my day. I got a mocha for my wife and just drip for myself. My wife loves a good mocha, but most places just make sugar bombs with a dash of cocoa (the drip coffee was a backup to dilute the mocha just in case it was too sweet) Not this mocha, though! It was a tad on the sweet side, but was oh so chocolatey and creamy. The sugar played quite well with the amount of chocolate and it wouldn't have been as decadent without it. Solid pull of espresso from what I can tell. Definitely a surprise.
The drip coffee was good too. I saw that they serve Reverie coffee, which is generally good, but even good beans can make bad coffee if handled poorly and this drip was tasty even after it had cooled a bit more than I intended due to a meeting running over.
It's a shame this was a one-off trip for me, I'd definitely return. I'd even go out of my way a bit. Hopefully something brings all the way down to Valley Center...
Read moreFamily was in town, and everyone wanted to get coffee. Someone suggested going to a local coffee shop, this was the closest and the reviews looked positive. They were out of all of their signature frappe flavors except cookies and creme. We got a medium (their sizes are awesome!), but honestly it was so bad that none of us could finish it. I’m not sure what was wrong, one person described it as cardboard, another as ‘what you’d get if you sucked all of the flavor out of an Oreo’, it tasted almost..stale? The others drinks we got were…meh, but they tasted like a 7/10 after trying the cookies and cream drink. I feel like this was a one off thing though, especially with all of the other positive reviews. Hopefully! I want to see small businesses thrive. I can’t justify the money again on this coffee though, we should’ve stuck with the...
Read moreLong story short... who am I kidding, Long story long... I flew into Wichita to surprise my mom for mother's day. I was running too late to get a decent coffee so I got some unremarkable burnt, bitter, acidic, brew from an unnamed store in VC. I walked into church to find a good place to hide to surprise her and they had coffee for parishioners; the coffee was delicious, smooth and rich. I asked them where it came from and they told be Buffalo Brew. After the service we went directly to the VC location where I ordered a 4 shot latte with almond milk and was equally impressed with the espresso. The service was also bright and cheery on a dreary Kansas...
