Panakeia — Restaurant in Vega Baja

I was looking forward to eat here as I had done a few times in the past. After being seated with my family and after being served coffee and an appetizer, we were asked to move to another table. The waitress had a family of 4 and needed our table for them. I replied we were comfortable and did not want to move and even suggested they take the extra chair from our table. Another waitress came and told us we had to move, that it was their policy to move a party after they were seated if the seating was needed for a larger party. I mentioned that I have never experienced this in any other eating establishment I have ever been. She said the hostess was suppose to tell us when we sat down and I expressed this never occurred. We did move, and even though we were very upset about it, no one made any effort to make us feel comfortable and less upset. We were treated very coldly and our plates did not come out together and the coffees came at the end of the service. Ilka and Gabriel are such nice hosts. I have eaten the angus burger with cheddar and the sweet potato mash. It was fresh tasting and well cooked. My friend had the vegetable flatbread and it was delicious. On another occasion my husband had the tuna salad. The tuna was marinade was so delicious. You chose the dressing. They will prepare a vinagrette made fresh with any of the fruits they have on hand. He chose strawberry dressing. To his surprise it was served hot. I would keep that in mind and request that it be served cold if you want more traditional vinagrette. I had the pineapple smoothie and an ham and vegetable omelette with toast. It was good. The service was spot on and the decor is family friendly. Highly recommend the place for the selection of fresh smoothies, good burgers, and vegetarian choices. Panekia Sunday staff was kinda very rude. They explained to me over messenger and in person that they were extremely busy to answer a phone (I called in store and the phone did not ring it was mute🤦🏻‍♀️), and if you're too busy how was it possible there were 3 open tables outside and 2 inside (*which were available to the public) When my order was done they called me (from an employees personal number) and asked me to pick up inside. With my order there was an 16oz drink and they gave me a 12oz, thankfully I noticed and asked to switch it. She said "it was a large cup, right!"
