The Viking — Restaurant in Ventura

The Viking is classic! Be prepared to wait bc they are so popular, and it's well-deserved! They do only accept cash, so if there was a drawback, that would be it. They have a good system to help as many customers in as short a time as possible. There are places to sit inside, but if you sit there, be advised you will probably get jostled a bit bc it's not very big inside. There is seating available outside, though thats limited as well. The atmosphere is upbeat and fun, attracting all ages. The ice cream is delicious. Again, be prepared. These are not McDonald's size servings. You better be ready to eat a TON of ice cream if you order a large! The tornados are not to be compared to DQ's blizzard, but if you like a little something added to your ice cream, that's the way to go. The shakes and makes are excellent, though the malts are my personal favorite (I like raspberry best). Definitely make a stop at the Viking for ice cream if you're in the area...

Ice cream was fantastic and the servers were great. However, one of the workers (an older man who said he works for the owner) made a huge scene because we moved one of the picnic tables to a shaded area. We tried to explain that we moved it because it was in the sun and there were a ton of flies from all the ice cream drippings under the table, but he wasn't having it. We apologized and told him we were going to move it back but he kept yelling at us, cursing at us, and making racial slurs and my father (who immigrated to the US from Argentina and then served 21.5 years in the USAF) while telling him that he didn't want his service and that he should go back to his own country in Ethiopia...keep in mind this was all taking place while we were there with 6 kids all under 9.

To the owner: I highly suggest you remove the older gentleman from your establishment. His attitude towards us was completely uncalled for, disrespectful, and a disgrace to...

I gave a huge rave On rant and rave how much I love the Viking restaurant in Ventura and how I try to go there at least once a week and how I love the Viking restaurant but every sense the owner has stepped away from it the kids that work there when you call they get smart with you on the phone to place an order or they giggle and laugh at you! But today I got a medium twist in a cup today and it was so milky runny that it was dripping all over my hand before I even got it to my new car and I wind up throwing it out because it was dripping everywhere it was like it was just straight milk or mix! And this is what happens when no one‘s regulating what they’re doing I get this all over my brand new 2022 Silverado thanks Viking!
