Got a minute? Let’s chat about this restaurant! Mediocre, unusual versions of Asian dishes, served in an old run down failed Mexican restaurant building, with slow paced, but friendly, adequate service. An overall dining experience that does not justify the prices charged. We ordered spring rolls. They delivered a boring preview of the meals soon to be served. Then came the strangest adaptation of egg drop soup. A semi clear broth, with chopped cabbage and a trace of egg white. Slightly spicy hot, with a pleasant flavor. The Pad Thai was a large portion of a version, of the common Thai dish. It was prepared differently than any my wife had before. A boring delivery of flavor, lacking the ingredients expected in a good Pad Thai. I had the Spicy Chicken and Vegetable Tempura, served with white rice and a sweet dipping sauce. It was a chicken breast thinly sliced, stir fried, covered with a spicy aioli. Battered fried vegetables on the side. Nothing special. NOT worth $15.99. Add a couple of drinks, sum up the bill, then throw on a 3.99% surcharge on subpar food, served in a grungy old restaurant and you just cost yourself $47.53. Add a tip, then you realize; you could have enjoyed a much better meal for the same money, elsewhere! I expect that there will be some “chatting” going on about the Chatroom Restaurant. Unlikely...
Read moreA friend at work said they heard this place was good. When we went to Claremore we tried it. We started out way too hungry to begin with and ordered 3 appetizers: potstickers, shrimp tempura, and spring rolls. I only tried the shrimp but understood the other appetizers were good. Our meals came with egg drop soup or Miso. I must say I have never had egg drop like this before. It seemed more like cabbage soup to me. It was interesting. We ordered multiple sushi rolls: Bee Roll, California, Fire Roll, and Spicy shrimp. I didn't capture the California roll in pictures, but the rolls all seemed pretty similar. We had Pad Thai along with spicy beef as entrees. I should have asked more questions about the spicy beef because it too was unexpected. Maybe it was my tastebuds, but I did not enjoy the dish. The sushi was "ok" but priced like the rolls here in Tulsa at an actual sushi restaurant. I would imagine like any restaurant some dishes are probably better...
Read moreWe intended to stop for a quick lunch at a Mexican place since from the road that is the sign that is visible. When we parked and walked up, we began to realize it was not a Mexican restaurant. The waitress inside informed us they had taken over the Mexican restaurant and were now serving Thai dishes. We were in a bit of a hurry, so we thought we would give it a try. Right after we sat down, multiple members of the local fire and police departments sat to eat their lunch. I knew this must be a sign of good things to come and it was! We ordered the fresh spring rolls, red curry, and Thai tea. Everything was delicious, and we will definitely be visiting again if we are in the area. We ended up ordering a second tea for the road because it was...
