I have dined here twice. First time was a really good burger. Second time recently, not that great. Batter fried Cod was quite dry, obviously overcooked, but came out barely warm. It had a very strange thin, dark brown coating on it that maybe was from using Guinness in the batter. However, it didn't taste like a beer batter at all. My fries were not even warm, not crispy at all, and withered like they were old from a warming pan, and obviously had been sitting a while, and it looked like they had come out of the bottom of the bin....lots of little pieces. The tartar sauce was quite bland and needed more acid. I enjoyed the cottage cheese with salt and pepper more than anything. I didn't complain at the time because nobody wants to complain about their food and wait another half an hour while the rest of their table is eating, and I don't care about the money enough to want a refund. I would never come back here for fish again because I know I can get a 4 piece cod dinner from Culver's that is great quality every time for half the price. Service was good. Very nice and clean atmosphere. WORK ON YOUR FOOD...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about this restaurant!
The service was amazing, the food was excellent, the restaurant was spotless and the decor is perfect!
At our table we had the cod dinner, the steak dinner, the chicken tender basket, and The Sherman Burger.
The food was all prepared perfectly; hot, fast, and delicious.
The servers made sure to keep our glasses full and were readily available to get anything else we needed (napkins- I'm a slob).
The owners were present and engaged, they spoke to everyone in the restaurant and made sure to thank everyone for coming in.
I will definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone! I've never seen a restaurant operate so smoothly after only being...
Read moreThis was the second time we visited Sherman’s and, I hate to say it but, what a huge disappointment. The first visit we had a delicious Reuben sandwich but on this second visit we tried their chili which was their special of the day for only $5. After about 3 bites, I realized it was the worst chili I’ve ever had and, I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad chili before in my life. There were no beans, no signs of any tomatoes, and it had the strangest taste. We wondered afterwards if maybe we were served their coney dog sauce instead but, I wouldn’t even want that on my hot dog. Not sure I’ll make the drive from Flushing again although, I do love the Irish decor and figure we just had one...
