Authentic German Flavors Deep in Southeast Texas

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by how authentic the flavors were. We both had the Jägerschnitzel with warm German potato salad and red cabbage—rich, comforting, and perfectly cooked. My mother-in-law, who is from Germany, went with the King Schnitzel topped with Swiss cheese and served alongside white asparagus, which really took her back home. She gave it two enthusiastic thumbs up.

We also shared a Currywurst with sauerkraut—savory, tangy, and just the right kick of spice.

The only downside was they had run out of dessert, which was a bit of a letdown, and we totally forgot it’s BYOB, so no German beer to wash it all down. Still, this little spot delivers a fantastic taste of Germany in an unexpected corner of Texas. We’ll be back—with our own...

The Hubby and I went here for the first time, we moved to Vidor 9 months ago and always saw this cute house made into a little German restaurant and always wanted to go, finally we did today and it was awesome, all the reviews are correct by giving them a 5 Star.

It's family owned and all of them are super nice friendly they make you feel like you are at their home having dinner .

Everything we had was delicious , the snitzels are delicious ,the German potatoes salad, everything is down to home cooking , LOVE LOVE this place, service is great.

I'm so glad we live so close me and the hubby will be regulars here.

So if you ever in Vidor or just driving thru please stop it's an awesome experience, the ambiance and the DECOR in there is fabulous .

I liked this place very much. It is in an old house and it has a lot of character. The food was excellent. We got the cordon blue and swiss version of the schnitzel with the potato salad and red cabbage. My wife is the expert on such matters and she said it was great. If you like German food, and like non franchise places, you should give this a try. I liked chatting with the family as they were very friendly and the service was excellent.
