Bought tickets for Summer Fest. They changed the date because of the weather and changed it to a SUNDAY in August. We already have plans that weekend with a bach party, wedding and graduation. Ciarra told me we can't have a refund because they dont control the weather. And that we should try to sell them, if we can't, to let them know closer to the concert and they'll see what they can do for us. We bought VIP tickets, not cheap. The ticket site does say no refund BUT that would be for the day I bought them for. I completely understand if I bought them for June 28th and then couldn't make it, that would be on me. But its not, THEY changed the date to Aug. So I demanded a refund, after my second email, she never responded. I called and left a message, no call back. They have nothing in writing that says if the concert is rescheduled there is still no refund. NOTHING SAYS THAT!!! No terms and conditions. Speaking with my friend with legal background gave me some steps to follow. Next step is contacting my bank to have them refund my money explaining what happened and showing them the email and showing them that nothing states in their advertisements a no refund clause if they themselves change the dates. I have screen shot everything so if its changed now I have the originals. My friend said they could go after them depending on the amount. Bu more and likely the bank will refund us. Regardless of who is out of money, I dont care. We bought 4 tickets, I want my money back! I won't buy tickets from them again or eat there any longer. We went every now and then because it was a nice drive and we like Chris Higbee. We will not support a small...
Read moreWould give 0 stars if I could. The service was amazing and the employees were great, but I couldn't help but feel they were all walking on eggshells because of the abusive owner. The owner decided that it was appropriate to berate, yell, and fire a staff member on spot in front of us and every single employee. This poor girl left the establishment crying. Not to mention our meals, the pasta dish that was supposed to be bake was boiled, with zero seasoning, missing half of the ingredients displayed on the menu. Afterwards he approached us and asked how our dinner was, we were honest and critiqued the meal. We explained we didn't appreciate the way he treated his employees. His first response was to ask if I was a chief, and not apologize for the interaction. He was very dismissive of his behaviors, he said "he fired her because she didn't listen". I used to love this place for the friendly staff, the atmosphere, and the good food. I will never be back, I cannot in my right mind support someone who treats his employees so terribly. I'm sure the owner will reply to this, saying that he "will do better next time", but his dismissive behavior already shows this was not a one time occurrence and he has no intention of...
Read moreThere is a lot to like about Candywood but a winecellar/vineyard isn't one of them. This is a relative new eatery, opening during the pandemic. So the facility is very modern/new. And members of our group had prior good experiences. I checked the rating and was uncertain how it got the scores it did. We were one of two customers so seating and service was prompt. We ordered a charcuterie board to share with glasses of some non-descript wine. Two of the group ordered burgers and two 6oz sirloin. The charcuterie board was tasty. The burgers were huge in height. Once everything was piled on they were 8 inches tall. So they could only be eaten by dismantling them or eating with a knife and fork. The burgers came with a ton of fries. The blackened sirloin was merely grilled, presented atop four fingerling potatoes and 3 small asparagus stalks. My partner liked hers. I didn't care for mine. All in all, Candywood has a way to go. Given the price range there are other more appetizing restaurants and wine cellars in the area. UPDATE: 10 months later, I found myself back at Candywood. Not by my choice. Nothing much had changed or improved. Still overpriced bar food. The venue is nice enough. But the food just isn't...
