If you're a burger lover and you haven't been here you're not a burger lover. This includes flying in if need be. Out in the small town of Villa Rica about an hour from Atlanta is this temple of hamburgery. Jerry's shares a parking lot with a Shell gas station and is about as unassuming a building you'll find. Have no doubt that all the money goes into the product not chrome shiny parts. Thats OK, for me the most important thing for a restaurant is consistency and that is the case here. It's been a while for us because it's not around the corner. Everything on the menu I've had is delicious and that hasn't changed. Expect a bit of a wait because it's all made by hand one at time but it's well worth it, those in the know order ahead. The burgers are simply amazing, Jerry must have some special voodoo magic happening in the kitchen because they're that juicy, delicious, with the perfect seasoning...he was born for this. I went to meditate on a mountain for 3 months and pondered all other hamburgers after I had my first Jerry's cow on a bun. You ever eat something that so good that when you're done you wish you had another to repeat the whole meal? You know how SpongeBob feels about crabby patty's? Do yourself a favor and make the trip for the best in the world as far as I'm...
Read moreThe burger was truly the best you'll find outside of Atlanta. It was a classic burger done right; with a thick and tender party, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and condiments on a soft bun. I can compare it to Shake Shack or In n Out, it's a slider type burger, but it's patty is much bigger.
The philly was moist and melted in your mouth. The cheese, peppers, and meat came together in perfect harmony. The wheat bun didn't add much, but it also didn't invade the otherwise perfect balance.
The fries were a 7/10, little above average. They are tempura dipped fries, and that gave them a little edge, but something was missing to make them really good.
The setting was great. It's a cool little shack with a nice lazy porch. All seating is outside, but it's not a bother at all. It's nice.
Jerry was very friendly and nice guy. He takes pride in his restaurant. He did seem a little overworked, being that he was the only one running the show during lunch rush.
The downsides, it took us 55 minutes to get our food. We ordered two burgers and a philly. Also, they were out of the roast beef and the curry. Not a big deal, expect when there only 5 things on the menu and you're missing two of them.
Jerry's is a great place and I will be back. I highly recommend it as a must-go place...
Read moreI can't believe I waited this long to stop in.
This place sits next to a convienience store I visit frequently. This time when I stopped, Jerry's was open. Hours are Wed-Sat 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. In summer, they have plants placed all around the front but now they've been placed inside. Seating is a few picnic benches on the porch with walk up window service. Jerry's has a limited menu of only a handful of items, but a good restaurant doesn't need many right? I got their Cheeseburger combo which is just a burger and fries. It comes with lettuce tomatoe, grilled onions, pickles, mayo, mustard, ketchup and choice of cheese. No drinks are available. Just had to walk to the store while you wait for your food to cook. The total was $11 and change.
The burger was wonderful and sloppy (don't eat this in your car because it may end up wearing some). There was not one overpowering flavor like you get at most chains and you could still taste the burger itself. The fries were good but they are one tweak away from being a must have craving.
I will visit again to try their Philly...
